What a deal. For around $20. a person you can learn more about the history of Mardi Gras, watch them actually make some of the components of the floats, and see a LOT of floats up close. They even have a free shuttle that will pick you up and take you there!

“Fascinating facts”
Reviewed 15 April 2012

It's a bit pricey but we found a discount coupon in the back of a booklet that we ordered by mail from the tourist bureau. First you are shown a short movie about Mardi Gras and the construction of the floats. Your guide then answers questions, serves a small piece of King Cake, which is sort of like a coffee cake and there is tea, coffee and water as well. Then you go into the factory for the rest of the tour. Afterwards you can wander around, take pictures, etc. There is a free shuttle to pick you up - call to make an appt. and to find out the closest stop. They will also take you back to to some other stop. We enjoyed it, especially because we got to see floats up close as well as the production process.

“Very interesting... a little pricey.”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

Mardi Gras world was a great opportunity to get a sense of the grandeur of Mardi Gras without actually being there. The tour guide was very informative and we even were able to see artists working on floats for the upcoming year. The floats were stunning! The tour also included an informational video and a piece of king cake. My only complaints were the price ($20 per person or $17 if you get a coupon) and the shuttle (the shuttle was free but it was very confusing trying to figure out where we were getting picked up).
