We stopped in on a Wednesday morning before my son’s college orientation. It’s right on State Street. The breakfast was delicious. I had a breakfast burrito, my wife had the sweet potato pancakes, and my son had French toast. All left very full and pleased.

Thank Severe

Food was amazing. So much detail in quality and prep. But going in July is not a good idea. Hot and smokey inside. While they have fans all over ... why don't they just install some ceiling fans? At one point the floor fan stopped and I asked the cook in the back to turn it on and she said she would plug it back in once she is done using the mixer. lol. She didn't unplug the fax the kitchen was using. She unplugged the fan the guests were using. SMH. Once again, the food was fantastic... but why do they use ketchup bottles over and over again. You take so much care in the food and reuse old ketchup bottles with bacteria and guck on them? I tried to find the cleanest of all the bottles I had to choose from (photo attached). I asked for packets of ketchup and they said if I bring over a ketchup bottle they will give me a cup to fill it.. No thanks. SPEND the extra money and buy new ketchup bottles! The place is so close to being perfect. Small fixes would make it a solid 5!

It's hard to figure out why this place is so popular.
Stand in long line to order at the counter. Find a place to sit a the way too crowded tables. Sit on uncomfortable chairs. Get coffee, utensils, etc. yourself.
Food was more or less OK but hit and miss. For example, the bacon was WAY overcooked. For me to not like bacon, you really need to try hard.
And, the place smelled. They need to clean out their grease traps; our clothes reeked after breakfast there.

I ate here after a long-night of visiting downtown Madison establishments. Walked in around 1 am and seated almost immediately. Decided to be adventurous and order the "mystery meal" and did not walk away disappointed. Would visit again after a night of drinking!

Well, everyone raves about this place. I can understand why -- the food is great and it is a trendy place. However, the wait can be long and tiring (standing). The seating is a funky mix of old chairs, stools, benches, etc., which means you can get stuck with poor or uncomfortable seating.

There is breakfast all day and they make a mean pancake. No problem with the food and the servers are fine.

We came in here late to catch a bite before an Overture Center show. Just made it in time as the line was slow and the seating iffy. Probably not coming back unless business is slow....
