My husband and I had the half and half. He ordered the half turkey sandwich and green chile stew. He enjoyed the sandwich very much but thought the soup lacked flavor. I ordered the farm club sandwich and garden salad with creamy garlic dressing. Both were very tasty. Staff was very friendly and willing to answer any questions. Would definitely come here again!

Our son had the Yak burger. The waitress showed us pictures of the yak from the local farm and explained about the farm and the owners. Food was great. You have to save room for the apple tart - delicious! We would come here again.

We had a superb meal here when passing through Cortez. I had the lamb meatballs, which were extraordinarily good. The care taken with the dishes was particularly evident in the potatoes that come with the meatballs; each slice of roasted potato was prepared to the exact same perfect consistency. Something I ordered, whether the lamb or something else, came with flash-fried kale that was surprisingly tasty. Many restaurants advertise their farm-to-table credentials but do not have an accomplished chef in the kitchen. The Farm Bistro is the complete package.

The only downside was that when we arrived, we were asked to wait until they could seat us. The place was half empty. After waiting for a considerable amount of time during which there were more discussions among staff about where we might sit, we were led to one of the tables that had been empty the whole time. We never understood what was going on, but it was very odd and left us concerned about how the rest of the evening would go. Fortunately, everything was excellent after that point.

Note that this restaurant is closed on Saturday and Sunday. The menu includes something for everybody, whether you are a steak lover, vegetarian or a vegan. Whatever you choose, it will be well-prepared.

I had a lovely prickley pear martini and lavender martini. Perfect amount of sweet to sour to vodka. And then the simplest of pastas, crimini mushroom - so creamy with white wine base. No flavour overpowered the other. A wonderful amalgem of tastes!

Yak burger and education was great. Who knew yak could be kosher? Very delicious. Husband had lamb meatballs enjoyed very much. No fish! Guess there no fish farming in NM but I enjoyed bean burger, actually one of the best I ever had. Cortez is well served by Restaurant.
