Went canoeing here May 10, 2018. Arrived late afternoon and the friendly staff rented the canoes for half price since we only had two hours left to paddle. The lake has very clear water, nice homes on one side. Road around the state park and was impressed with how well maintained everything was

We camped in the primitive camp site at the end of April 2018. Bathrooms are super close and clean. Showers are a little walk or quick drive away. There is a pavilion with water and electricity, playground, picnic tables, plenty of trash cans and plenty of parking. The waterfall trail is a half mile or so walk away or quick drive with parking. We stayed very left on waterfall trail and it was an easy hike. Waterfall had water and was small but pretty. Good place to stop and eat lunch or take off your shoes and feel the super cold water. Park ranger and assistant were super nice and helpful, checking through the camping area. My family was there for two nights and you will hear some raccoons at night. Recommend highly leaving food in your vehicle and something heavy on cooler because they’ve learned to open them and will try to get in your tent if there’s food. I’d come back to this area again but would just take precautions regarding food. Water outlet close by if needed for boats. Nice, well kept area overall. We only saw the power plant on the hike and not from the primitive camp area. Worth a visit! Oh and there’s a dollar general a short drive from the park, which is very convenient! Town area with subway, McDonald’s, etc only about 15 or so minutes away.

We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed the close proximity to Hot Springs. This park is a nice and clean with fairly large back-in asphalt space for our travel trailer. Site 69 is next to the sewer processing system hidden behind a wooden fence that has a constant "humming" sound. There is a power plant directly across the lake, with distracting lights at night. The other sites in Loops A or B at the opposite end look more appealing. The trails were nice, but the waterfall was dry due to lack of rain.

We camped for a few nights with a fifth wheel trailer with an advance reservation. This place has some partial and full hookup sites for RV’s that are right on the water, with docks for your boat. The restrooms, with showers, were clean and nicely spaced (meaning plenty of them). While it rained while we were there, so we didn’t get out to hike, the trails look pretty good, although not a lot of them.

This looks like a great spot for a family camping trip with a boat.

Lots of Canadian Geese and mallards and squirrels looking for snacks.

We hiked the trails to see the falls and they did not disappoint. This was a fun family trip and we will be back. We failed to rent a kayak and get out on the lake but at least we have a reason to go back
