Gunung Kawi was absolutely beautiful. It actually surprised me how stunning it was. Absolutely worth the 300 steps it takes to actually get down to the temple. Definitely bring water with you because the hike back up is killer in the Balinese heat. Try to visit later in the day or earlier in the morning when the sun isn't directly overhead and remember that you don't need to buy a sarong before entering since they have them for free when you pay to enter. Be prepared to be bombarded by women telling you "you need sarong for temple", both entering and leaving.

The historic temple, its location away from the noise and very historic, deserves the tourists much liked visiting this place.

The temple is quite large, consists of several parts. Pass up and down the stairs. Quite exhausting, but it pays off with a very unique and cool temple amazement. Lots of souvenirs sellers here.

Every step allowed for another great view around the corner. When you got to the bottom it was something that felt out of Indiana JOnes movie. Sure you will sweat 400 steps on the way back up, but worth it.

The stairs can stop people to go, but it's not that tough, you can even find couple of cafe along the way to stop and refresh.
And then the temple is well worth the effort.
