Sarah, the owner makes sure that you feel extremely welcome and taken care of. Even when she is not around, you feel her staff's dedication to the place. Most are locals from the Amed area, so there is a really nice vibe around this wonderful lovely hotel and retreat resort.
I would say it's ideal for anyone looking for more peace and quiet than in much of the rest of Bali. It's also a great base for a diving holiday.
If you are looking for a place to do Yoga or go on a Yoga retreat, the set up is great. Perfect for an intimate group.

These unique cottage type accommodations as well as the hotel grounds and restaurant were outstanding!! Sarah and her entire staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly.....anything we inquired about, from recommendations about local activities to restaurants (their restaurant is outstanding) to on site amenities were addressed with happy, gracious, immediate suggestions.

Room tip: Your preference, some are beach side, some are pool side. All are amazing!!

This hotel at the far south east end of the Amed Beach area is far enough from the dive shops and tourist restaurants to be an oasis of older style Bali. The single most important fact visitors must understand is the hotel is right on the edge of the beach but this is a working beach packed full of fishing boats, locals and their families and is not a great choice for sunbathers. In the pre-dawn, the fishermen push the boats out into the surf and within a few hours haul them back up the beach using motor winches and muscle power. Dogs bark, cocks crow and you'll understand why earplugs are provided in the hotel rooms.
I was up before first light every morning chatting to the fishermen and photographing the spectacle of dozens of spider-like boats being dragged up with their load of small mackerel, The families were friendly and many spoke English. Yes, there's a little touting of snorkelling or other boats trips but it's the way the fishermen can supplement their falling income as fish stocks diminish. We were twice invited to families' houses to eat and we enjoyed the atmosphere immensely. If you want to feel isolated from locals and sit on white sand beaches drinking overpriced cocktails this is not the place for you.
The beach is clean but littered with pieces of coral and fishing great. The waves can be rough and there's both coral and big rocks underfoot.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful but it's not 5*. The food was reasonable but not great and it's a short distance to restaurants in the next bays, many of which will pick up and bring you home.
The countryside around can be absolutely stunning and you'll not see any tourists unless you go the famous temple nearby which was utter hell with thousands of foreigners taking selfies and posed shots for their social media accounts.

Room tip: The special villas are right on the beach edge so noisier, but lovely.

Stayed here with my wife and really enjoyed the hotel and specially the very friendly staff. Food is good too but the best part is just the hotel ambiance and architecture. It is a bit far from the dive places but is worth it. Quiet and peaceful. Also good yoga!

This property is beautiful - the grounds, the pool, the rooms and amazing snorkeling out the back door. This is one of the best restaurant in the area and the food is healthy, fresh and tasty! And the yoga classes that are offered twice a day bookend a wonderful day! I’ll be back!
