My wife and I spent two nights there in a bungalow. Loved it! Very cute, spacious, clean and comfortable at a low price. Gorgeous garden with a fishpond - just by the beach. Nice staff and good food. We'd happily return.

Beautiful and piecefull paradise right on the beach. Ocean view bungalows have awesome view from the patio and you can hear the waves crashing on the beach which is only ten meters away. The Coconut restaurant has an excellent variety of local and western food. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Every morning at 6am you get your coffee and tee delivered to your patio. The breakfast is also awesome and you can enjoy it with a wiev to the ocean. When we weren't touring at the temples we enjoyed our day at beautiful pool area and our children literally spend their whole day in it. Amed is also a great place for snorkeling and you can find coral reefs right in front of Santai Hotel. Coral garden in nearby Jemeluk bay is also great place to go snorkeling. If you want to go and see temples and water palaces you can rent a car and the driver from the reception. This was our third time in Santai Hotel and stayed at ocean wiev bungalows 2 and 3. We love this place and will return again at our next holiday!

We were warmly welcomed to Bali Santai with drinks and quickly into our room which was a sea view bungalow.The rooms are rather basic with a comfortable bed with mozie net,outdoor bathroom with nice toiletries,Shower was hot and great strength.The wardrobe in our room rocked with every step you took inside the room which was a bit disconcerting as you felt it was going to fall over.They had a folded piece of paper under one of the legs but it needed more.The verandah had a day bed and two cane chairs and a table with mozie coils available.We had a view to the sea and over the pool which was nice and it was very quiet.There was no kettle in your room but every morning around 6am they delivered a thermos of boiling water with tea and coffee which was a nice touch.They had free refillable bottles of water and you could get hot or cold water from the restaurant at any time which was good and good for the environment.There was no TV.The snorkelling from the beach wasnt very nice but good for beginners.We did an early morning snorkel but were soon out of the water as there was so much rubbish and a layer a scum on the water.The restaurant food was good and basically you will be eating in the hotel at night as there are NO open restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.The walk into Jemaluk where there are many restaurants and excellent snorkelling is about 15 mins firstly uphill and then downhill into town with poor lighting so take a torch.There is a shuttle car to drop you off in town and only has certain times but we found them to be very good to give you a lift at any time.The room was airconditioned and had a fan but it was quite hot in Amed so we used the aircon.There were stairs that led up to a floor upstairs that had another 2 beds so you could have 4 in the room comfortably.Breakfasts were nice with a better range than a lot of Bali hotels with an Avo smash breakfast and lots of other nice options.We had booked in for 2 nights but didnt want to leave Amed.We moved to another hotel only due to the distance into town to do snorkelling which is what we wanted to do.If you had a scooter you would be fine as it is only a couple of minutes without the hills to climb.The hotel was quite expensive with us paying around $120 AUD a night for our room.Service was great but the room didnt warrant that price.
