The best part of our beach bungalow was the baldachin bed with a sea view. It was great for an afternoon nap. Besides this the food was great and at avery good price. We decided not to go snorkelling, rather stayed on the beach, but we will return for sure to this side of the island!More

I went here with my husband on our honeymoon and it was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever been to. The hotel is small, which adds to the peaceful atmosphere.
The team have thought about all the little things- amazing orange juice to welcome you, fantastically smelling shampoo, tea and coffee brought to your room each morning, super tasty and fresh breakfast- its great!
During the 4 days we stayed here, we did not eat outside of the hotel once. The menu was so varied and everything we ordered was so good that we just wanted to stay and eat everything!
The staff were incredibly kind and the service was very personalised. The pool is in a beautiful setting where you can look over the flowers and see the lightly rippling ocean.
To top it all off, just in front of the hotel was the best snorkelling I have ever done in my life, and I have been lucky enough to snorkel in the Caribbean, Thailand, Maldives etc.
REALLY recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxed, intimate and peaceful stay in Amed.
The only slightly negative point to note, is that in the rooms at the back of the hotel you can hear the road noise, which is not so peaceful. We decided that we didn't mind as the breath-taking view from our balcony made it worth it. However, if you are a light sleeper, I would request a room closer to the beach.
Every time we go to Bali we stay in this lovely place, with its unique bungalows and luxuriant garden, not to mention the nice pool with the ocean view. The staff too is great: very professional, helpful and friendly, always a smile on their face. At the restaurant we ate delicious food, with a choice of both Balinese and Western dishes. The coffee on the veranda at dawn was the perfect way to start the day. We'll certainly be back!
This is a beautiful hotel surrounded by lush green tropical gardens right on the ocean. The rooms are free standing timber & bamboo bungalows with thatched roofs, serene outdoor showers & bathrooms and a private balcony with chairs and mini day bed. Each morning a tray is delivered to your balcony with hot tea or coffee in a thermos. The bungalows have wooden window shutters that open out to views of the gardens and sea views. Beautiful four poster beds with mosquito nets. The hotel are eco conscious and provide refillable glass water bottles and all straws are made from bamboo. The food from the restaurant was delicious in particular the free breakfast - super healthy & so tasty. Pool has stunning views of the ocean and sunrise is spectacular. The staff are all so kind and helpful. I had an amazing facial in their day spa which is an outdoor open air bamboo & wooden hut facing the ocean, it was heavenly. In terms of location you’re about a 2 minute drive from Jemeluk Bay and 4 minutes to the centre of Amed - no view of Mt Agung however a quick drive to sunset point at Jemeluk bay to view the sun setting behind the infamous volcano. The hotel can organise a boat trip to watch the sunset from the ocean which I highly recommend it is something else. This hotel is the perfect place to unwind and relax.
This hotel has really nice bungalows with lots of space and comfort. There is a nice porch area for hanging out outside too. The beach is rocky here but still nice and the snorkeling was good from the shore. There was a local guy who was often outside on the beach, and he offered a boat trip for snorkeling near the small shipwreck. We negotiated a very cheap price for this and really enjoyed it.
The hotel has dance shows some nights and we saw three wonderful Balinese dancers performing just for us- no one else was watching! I wonder if they will keep offering this? But it would definitely be worth it just to visit the hotel for the dinner and dance show.
The breakfast was amazing and we particularly loved the banana porridge.
The area is very quiet and there is not too much nearby, but it would be easy to get transport to other areas if you wanted to check out more restaurants etc.
There were no mosquitoes despite the pond near our room.
If you're looking for paradise, no need to wait for the afterlife. It's right here, at Santai. We were pretty lucky to find this place on our first try, and nothing could quite compare since. Though it takes a while to get here from the airport, if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta or downtown Ubud, it’s well worth the drive. Once you enter through the hotel grounds and find yourself surrounded by a lush, green garden with quaint bamboo bungalows in its midst, all the worldly worries seem to drift away. Because we arrived at night, we were not able to see the ocean, but in the morning, when we were sipping on the coffee that the staff bought to our terrace, we were treated to a stunning and calming view of the local fishermen coming back from their morning fishing trip.
The bungalows themselves are majestic from the outside and cozy and clean from the inside. And the bathroom even has its own little garden! The staff are extremely friendly and ready to help you out with anything.
The hotel restaurant treats you to the same gorgeous view of the ocean and the garden/pool area, while serving up a variety of high quality dishes, both local and international, and some of the best cocktails we had while on Bali. And the hidden table between the pool and the beach is just ideal if you have something special in mind, like proposing to your significant other.
And of course one of the highlights is the location itself! Located at the beach, it takes about 2 strokes to be in a scene from Finding Nemo! You’ll be surrounded by colorful fish of all shapes and sizes, with an occasional stingray and if you’re lucky, you will make friends with a sea turtle.
Outside the hotel the area offers more than enough to keep things lively without turning into the tourist trap like Denpasar. Within walking distance, there are quite a few of supermarkets, bars restaurants, and warungs (Galanga was definitely our favourite!), and with the region so well known for great diving, there is a diving school every few meters (Amed Jepun Divers is absolutely the best and is just a 5 minute walk away).
This was our 2nd and 3rd stay here (we booked another hotel after our stay here, but after an utter disappointment we came back the next day and stayed for another week), and we’ll definitely be back for a 4th.
