The hotel was lovely, beautiful rooms, friendly staff and great food. Only downside was the bed linen which was old and of poor quality. Given the price of the room we expect cotton sheets in good condition.

One night there a Balinese dance show, which was excellent. Some customers sat at the front and talked loudly during the performance and played with their mobiles. Fellow guests. If you're not interested please sit at the back not right in front. Or perhaps come to dinner half an hour earlier or later so you miss the show. This behaviour was disgusting, Balinese dance has cultural and religious meaning. These people would not behave like this in church or in the theatre. I hope I haven't broken any rules here, I think it's a fair commment for the benefit of future guests and our hosts.

Stayed in Griya in February. Our villa with own pool was beyond perfect. Loved the breakfast and the restaurant served really nice dishes too. There are also other restaurants and little supermarket around the corned. We attended a yoga class in Life in Amed, which was nice experience. The massages in the spa were lovely as well. The beach close by was nice and the clear waters were perfect for snorkeling.
I would definitely come back.

We stayed in the two bedroom villa with private pool and ocean views (Villa 9). It was absolutely stunning - from the bedroom you looked out over the ocean from one window and up to the mountainside from the other. The bathroom was huge with a beautiful shower open to the air, and a claw foot bath. The restaurant was small, but the food was delicious. The roof top bar was also small, and because we were there in the rainy season it wasn't really possible to use it - but I imagine on a dry summer evening it would be a relaxing spot to admire the view. We would definitely go back - of all the hotels we have stayed in in Bali, this one is top of our lost so far.

We stayed a week at the Griya Villas. We went diving quite a lot but also stayed around the villa some days.

They organized transport from and to the airport which worked very well (2hr drive).

The staff of the villas, restaurants and spa were all nice and friendly.

We enjoyed the villa which was a two bedroom (of which one was closed off as it was only two of us) with a big private pool, two double sun lounges a separate living room that you could fully open up. Not everything brand new but nothing broken or dirty.
The Villas are equipped with a bluetooth speaker which is nice but due to the different levels and the straw roofs it can also get noisy. However, the neighbors were all quite latest by 10pm.

We had breakfast in the restaurant and sometimes in the villa (at no surcharge) which was great. Breakfast was included and you can pick from two out of maybe 15-20 dishes which was more than enough.
We also often had lunch and/or dinner at the restaurants which was very good (esp. the tenderloin, locally spiced chicken and the beef rendang) and also offered healthy options (create your own salad bowl etc).
One of the reasons we had dinner there most nights was that the villas are quite remote and the road was dark, so we didn‘t want to walk there at night. We tried the restaurant opposite which was good but not as good as the villa one.

We also used the Gym a couple of times which is well equipped for the number of villas.

Spa is also nice but can be a bit noisy when kids are playing around the main pool.

Don’t worry about the extra 3 hours of drive from the airport. Griya has the best service and picked us up at the airport and made sure we got a good transport the next location. Our stay was the best in Bali and the villa (and view) made our trip even more amazing (very private).

Room tip: Best view and privacy
