Where else would one choose in Amed area?
Blue Moon is civilised, very friendly, with old world courtesy and standards.
The Ocean View rooms are spacious and cool with Fast WiFi plus private infinity pool
The views are stunning. Watch the fishing boats return with their catch whilst enjoying early morning tea in bed!
Good snorkelling off beach below and walk along to Japanese wreck. Stunning reef fish.
Dinner in candle lit restaurant with chilled music and fabulous fresh food never disappoints.. Blue Moon and it’s staff are quite simply Paradise.

Room tip: Angel Ocean View Rooms are stunning.

My parter and I stayed at Blue Moon Villas based on the enticing listing from booking.com. The photos were very deceiving and upon arrival were quick to realise our stay would not be as comfortable as expected. The staff were wonderful and welcoming and the restaurant tasty and affordable, yet the resort (both common areas and villas alike) were in need of a good clean and upgrade. Our villa was overwhelmed with the musky smell of damp mould, there was no hot water and the shower was rather dirty. Another downside was the wifi was terrible and it would log you out if left dormant for over 5 mins.

It’s very much not the advertised 4 star, I’d give it 2, however with a little love and a refreshing facelift this resort could easily be brought back to life.

Great rooms, not the cheapest though. Nice views. Pools a bit cool and lots of stairs.
Restaurant: amazing!!! Best in our Bali trip.
Staff was great. So caring when husband arrived a bit sick.
Snorkeling nearby was very good.
Amed will be top of our list in our next trip and will definitely eat here again and maybe stay.

If you want a place to chill with great lounges, staff, food, and amazing music selection, then go here. The specials on the menu are great. The rooms have an awesome outdoor shower. The restaurant has lounge areas with books and bean bags and everything you need to relax. The view of the sea is also amazing

My wife and I spent two nights at Blue Moon Villas in a very nice room. The hotel is very nice with most rooms overlooking the ocean.

But the problem of this hotel has nothing to do with the location or the hotel vicinity, it has to do with the service provided by the hotel employees. Firstly, with the exception of Putu who provided good service to fix a problem in the room, none of the employees are smiling. It seems that each and every employee is bored by its job. And the quality of service is affected by it.

When you pretend to be a 4 star hotel, level of service has to be in line with the expectations. Several details are missing to achieve such 4* level. For example, the hotel provides towels on each and every chair around the various infinity pools early in the morning. The problem is that nobody checks throughout the day. If you end up showing at the swimming pool in the afternoon, all towels are wet and laying on the ground (like in a teenager bedroom). Same for the swimming pool. The swimming pools are cleaned early in the morning. But most pools are surrounded by jacaranda trees and you end up with lots of flower floating on the water surface in the afternoon. I had to clean the pool myself to enjoy it. It would only require an employee to go around the property in the afternoon and make corrections.

The other major problem is the noise level. Most rooms are across the street from the ocean. You end up having a room overlooking the ocean (nice) but with lots of cars / mopeds / motorbikes between your room and the ocean. The noise level is annoying.

In summary, good looking hotel but service level needs to be upgraded to make it a real 4* hotel. A manager on duty taking care of details would help a lot.

Room tip: Rooms on the ocean side (not across the street)
