We chose Puri Wirata as our home-away-from-home while we were in Bali for a dive holiday, and I have no regrets. The room was not five star (but they don't claim to be); it was clean and comfortable and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful, and always had time to answer questions. The pool is a nice one, although it's sometimes being used to teach small classes of SCUBA divers - as a diver myself I'm always delighted to see this.
The spa was marvellous, the staff here just as lovely as elsewhere. I had three massages, a facial and a pedicure while I was there, and every time I left, I felt light as a feather! The relaxation massage is a nice light one, but if you're into something that is a bit more in-depth, I recommend the hot stone massage. It really helped loosen up some of my joints that got a bit tight after the plane flights.
The restaurant was a bit variable - I loved the breakfast (great pancakes and pastries), the bread is baked fresh, and the smoothies were just the thing after a day of diving, but other meals were mostly just okay. Nothing wrong with them, just nothing to write home about, especially since the resort itself is on a strip with a number of nice restaurants (although when I had a burger, the chips that came along with it were pretty...We chose Puri Wirata as our home-away-from-home while we were in Bali for a dive holiday, and I have no regrets. Although you *do* have to walk up a fairly steep hill to get to those other restaurants, so factor that in to your decision-making ;)
Overall: great place. Well-run. Friendly. Good value for money. Thank you Puri Wirata for making our holiday so smooth and stress-free.More
