Well, plumbing and electric are a bit "rustic" but this is more than made up for by the spectacular views from most of the cottages, beautiful grounds, and friendly staff. We could look down directly at the submerged Japanese Wreck (the primary reason travelers stay at this end of Amed) from our front porch. Iluh, the charming proprietor, is a great cook and has passed her skills on to the rest of the staff. The small open air restaurant serves a wide variety of items and, like the rest of the property, has a fantastic view. The only potential negative is that staying here requires negotiating a lot of steep, uneven concrete steps. Not a problem if you're reasonably fit and uninjured, but my wife had a bum leg on this trip and found all the steps rather daunting. We definitely plan to return to this delightful place when her leg has recovered.
