Good and safe place to play in water. Separate Ladies/Gents section. 60KM from Kanyakumari, took 2 hours by local bus. Taxi can take around 90 minutes.

Reviewed 27 September 2012

This falls is adjacent to the temple and this place is now a shooting spot. Always full of water during rainy season.

“Nice Falls”
Reviewed 28 August 2012

Its a nice falls with very less crowd. I was here in August and waterfall was not very heavy. There is boating as well which I didn't go for. The place is value for money. I will visit again.

“A Beautiful water fall”
Reviewed 24 August 2012

This place is quite far from Kanyakumari main spot about 60 kms distance. You can enjoy a bath under the gushing water, and later take a turn in the area to get different outlook on the falls. The Thiruparappu fall is on a rocky bed. There is a small Lord Shiva temple enclosed on the left bank of the river between the waterfall and the dam. You can hire private Taxi to visit this place. Avoid April to September. And start your journey a bit early so that you can return in time.

“Showering Falls”
Reviewed 14 August 2012

This is one of those simple kind of waterfalls one can find around the world without much of a stunning backdrop. The falls on the public access side is not that high and that provides enough for the visiting public who throng there to have shower in the falls. There are separate showering and changing room facilities for men and women. The falls area can get crowded during public holidays and travel season, I was told. Even when we visited there were few tourist buses and could see plenty of young people around and showering. The safety rails around the water area seem just adequate but nothing compared to any proper standard safety measure.

There is a fee to enter this area and separate fee for still and video cameras. There seems to be some kind of boating at the upper reaches of this place but we were unable to spot any activities around the water area that was visible to public eye. Hence didn’t take a chance to try even though there was someone selling the tickets and persuading visitors.

There are few small shops near the entrance that sell souvenirs and local food items. If you travel by car then there are plenty of parking area by the side of the main road. But I guess this could get crowded if there are few tour buses already occupying the slots. There is fee for parking as well.

If you walk around the upper side of the falls then please be careful as this area is not well maintained (or cleaned) and look before you put your foot down! Though one can catch bit of greenery around but this is just an ordinary landscape and nothing special.
