“Nothing great.. Rocky all over...”
Reviewed 11 June 2012

I would not rate this as a beach but a good sea view. The beach is rocky all around and not a place to have a swim. The beach, at the time of my visit, was very rough. The shops on the shore offer a good window shopping experience for really cheap stuff. But be careful though, you might be tricked and fleeced. Bargain is the word here and be very careful of the quality and price. Also avoid the bhojanalayas around as they serve pathetic food and charge mercilessly.

“Not a well maintained beach”
Reviewed 2 June 2012

The beach is filled up with litter of all sorts and plastic bottles..not at all maintained..you can stand there to see the sunrise or sunset but other than that not a good beach to bathe as full of dirt and garbage all around.

“The only point where the 3 seas meets”
Reviewed 2 June 2012

The triveni sangam is a breadthtaking view. The vivekananda memorial is good and full of peace the environment is very enchanting and enhancing. the chanting of "OMMM" in meditation hall is a good experience. Next to it the saint Thiruvalluvar satue is equally good and majestic. The view of sunrise and sunset is eye-pleasing.

the bad points are: we heared lot about the colors of the sand of indian ocean, arabian sea and bay of bengal, that are different. but too much construction of hotels mar the scenery and one couldn't find the colors scattered.

“Beauty of the Dawn and dusk”
Reviewed 28 May 2012

The triveni sangam at kanyakumari is breathtaking at dawn even at dusk.
The sight of vivekananda rocks and a subsequent visit to the island is an experience.
The changing lights & colours at both dusk n dawn are like no where else. there are many sunset n sunrise points but not a point like this.
you donot mind the crowd when such a beauty lies before you.
there are markets for spices and local handicrafanyakumari temple is a disappointment as it is poorly maintained.ts that are good entertainment n shopping.
The shivatemple close by is beautiful.
Poor connectivity by buses and better take a taxi.

“Could have been much better !”
Reviewed 16 May 2012

Geographically significant; as the meeting point of the three ocean bodies – the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea and being the southern most point of mainland India.

+ve:
Very short walk from railway station and leads to other attractions as the vivekananda memorial and Kanyakumari temple.
-ve:
Busy, cluttered, and a bit 2 rocky for swimming.

Tips:
1. If you really want to swim, walk towards the beach near the lighthouse, there is a very reasonable TTDC hotel as well.
2. Get away from the main hordes near the Sangam if you want to take nice sunset and sunrise pics without people getting into every frame.
3. Do a bit of touring, around the beach area, many small eateries selling freshly cooked meals with fish at nominal prices.
