Hotel Sunworld

At first the name sounded very interesting to me but when I was there it was a total dissapointment right from the reception to the check out. The reception table is just massive which makes an impression, but when you contact the front office staff for any help they are clueless. The basic problem starts with them. They can't communicate in english and even if you try, you're likely to be misunderstood and recieve an answer in tamil which helps if you only know or understand the language.

The staff are very ignorant and non responsive, many of them have no idea and behave so foolishly. The restaurant is on the ground floor and does not have a name, it offers a lot of variety on the menu. The dining table and chairs are plastic with cloth covered above. just an a/c for the large dining hall. But any guest who wants to have continental dish could be dissapointed due to the hotels inability to provide a satisfying meal.
In my case I opted for the french toast and it was served to me with no honey or maple syrup the staff informed me with a hate look on her face.
The bread was thin and small.
Egg omelettes served there are just ok to fill you up. I think it is best to opt for a south indian cuisine as the staff can understand that and serve you what you ask for. It is very dissapointing that the hotel is not upto a standard. Some rooms are smelly and have a tile flooring and looks ugly. I think it might be a newly built hotel as there was some work going on at the floor and some rooms. Parts of the hotel were wearing a deserted and unpleasing appearance.

The hotel is big enough to be rated 3 star but the service is just pathetic and this hotel might be ok for anyone who wants to take a bath and change clothes and even for those who are on a tight budget and don't mind the situation there and service provided. However I must add that it's definetly not worth to stay here. The hotel website is very misleading in it's content and I suggest that you don't get fooled by looking at the pictures put up on the website. The pictures taken, show the rooms in a very classy
look which is definetly contradictory to my experience. The staff are going to be starring at you for more than longer time. They hardly pay attention to guests and you are likely to get tired and bored seeing all this happen. The hotel does not have a Wi Fi, bathrooms are small and dont have an exhaust fan or a opening to the outside to let the smell out and beds there are like rock-solid and cannot help you with a sound sleep.
The dressing mirror in this hotel is small and thin and designed in a manner between the cup boards. I noticed that the staff are not at all professional about their work and take things for granted and crack jokes right before the guests. Parking facility was enough to hold roughly 5 to 7 cars. The room which I opted was sea facing and had
a good view of the statue on the rock which stands there facing a different angle.

This hotel provides on shampoo and soap and anything apart
from that you may have to bring. There are no shops selling moisturisers/ hair oil/ lotion/ towel/ beach wear/ etc.. in the nearby locality and to put it briefly my experience at this hotel as well as this town was very frustrating and difficult to manage. Everybody communicates in tamil. English is hardly spoken. There are many other hotels in the locality and you can try them out. I'm not sure if this is the same condition there or you can atleast expect a better service. I suggest that a tourist be safe with his belongings as the town is a tourist spot and very crowded during peak seasons.

I enjoyed the access given to us. As guests we were let to the roof of the hotel which was very vast and we could see the sunset and the sunrise here, very windy and lot of small shops located in the nearby locality. The town looks like it has a lot of people who are not of a high standard or high living condition and the locals tend to make fun of the tourist visiting the place. I have witnessed the way foreign women there are teased by the local men.

Overall a bad experience !!

When we confirm the tour all over INDIA. My Foreign friends booked some hotels for our Refreshment and safe staying. Before that Every one from Each state friends have collected the list of TOP hotels. I mentioned the 'HOTEL SUN WORLD" as my opinion. They also accepted my choice and booked before 1 month to the date of tour.
After that only get some fear about that, because even till that I never have any experience in this hotel. But I get wonder and highly satisfied in the first day itself. We got full privacy in our stay and surprised about the friendly service,Cleanliness ,Rooms and food quality and its rate.Really enjoyed a lot and also decided it as our favorite Hotel. I am sure that we will be there in our next trip to Kanyakumari. Thanks for your care service .

The hotel room is worst than the public toilets with the damp smell in it. I didn't manage to sleep the whole night due to the smell. The bedsheet and the towels are old. Need to make few calls in order to get the hot water to bath. The staffs are inexperienced and are lost. No comment on the location.
