The location of Hotel Tamil Nadul was the best thing about it. The rooms were just O.K., and a bit on the shabby side. It was difficult to book from the U.S. on the state website, but somehow eventually the booking went through. We did not eat there as the dining room did not look at all appealing or inhabited. In the early evening, I visited hoping I could find something to drink, but there was not a soul in the place. Finally someone came out of the kitchen and directed me to the bar in another building, which was open, but also empty and unstaffed. I probably could have called room service, or waited awhile for someone to show up -- not sure.
But, it was perfect to sit on the balcony and watch sunset and sunrise, and it was just a short walk down to the beach frontage with its little park, the observation tower, and the walkway lined with vendors' stands. That was what we had come to Kanyakumari for -- to see the end of India where three oceans meet, and for that the hotel was perfect.
