We were very pleased with our room in the new annex. It was very clean, everything worked and the staff were pleasant and helpful. We thought it was good value for the price which was 1,500. We booked by e-mail and they did not require a deposit, we have had problems in India getting money to hotels off the beaten track. The food in the restaurant is just about O.K.

Room Tip: Go for the annex

In Bijapur there is not much choice but this is probably one of the best option.Throgh TRIPADVISOR reviews selected this hotel and there was no disappointment. The rooms in the new ANNEX part is big, clean and comfortable.2) Bathroom: big/clean.3)Linen/Towels are clean.4)Tv:24" Flat Screen Panasonic in mint condition.5)AC: Bluestar split noiseless 6) Service is good and if you pay good tip it is much better.6) Check in and out is aloof. For good veg food there is Shiv Sagar across the road. Will stay here in future. Overall 7/10

Room Tip: Rooms in the Annex are new and much better though expensive.

Look, Bijapur does not have a whole lot of options and this is likely to be your best bet. That said, don't expect anything big or grand or even remotely charming. This is an Indian business hotel as there are numerous all-over India. The rooms are fairly clean, the walls need painting, the bedsheets were once white now grey, but the a/c does it job, there is even hot water in the shower, and all in all you will live. I read somewhere who thought the service was excellent. Not sure what that is based on really. The staff is efficient, not particularly prone to smiling, but then again Indian business hotels generally don't really do in smiles and cheers... But they know how to do their job, help you on your way, give you a couple of suggestions on how to walk/take an auto-rickshaw from sight to sight etc. And otherwise they won't bother you. If you need anything just ask. Like beer, you want it chilled, thanda, sure they will get it for you, no problem. Stuff like that. Location wise it is a handy place too. Walking distance from Gol Gumbaz, and more or less walking distance from a number of other sights (though depending on the weather, I was there in May, you may want to consider an auto). What more to add? I had some trouble reaching them. I made reservation inquiries on their website but they never got back to me. Finally a hotel I stayed with in Badami helped me out and I was able to get through. Oh, the restaurant: decent, fairly hygienic, but there are more interesting/better options further down the road. Again: this hotel is likely to be your best bet.

Room Tip: You may want to ask for a room that does not face the road which is noisy and alarmingly busy till l...

Very welcoming and helpful service from reception and room service.

Location is near to the Golgumbaz, has internet cafe next door and is near 2 of the best restaurants (Kamat for good food and lively friendly atmosphere and Hotel Maduvan for its garden setting)

Unfortunately - like all but one hotel, it is on the main road which is being resurfaced making whole strip a dust bowl. Locals told us this had been going on for 2 years and by the look of it was going to take another two. However, the staff made strenuous efforts to keep the hotel clean.

Excellent value for money.

(Restaurant downstairs had different management and the service was so bad in just getting a coffee on 2 mornings (wrong order 1st day and ignored the 2nd.)that we never tried the food.)

Room Tip: At the back - away from traffic noise and dust

You do not often have a chance to see a hotel kitchen in Europe. In India I would not recomend the visit at all however in Pearl Hotel, Bijapur, KA, India you go through kitchen into the parking between trashbins in the back of the hotel.
Pearl hotel is however very nice and if you don't expect something luxirious it's a good choice for Bijapur especially because it's in walkable distance (ca 200m) to Gul Gombaz local huge temple with wispering dome where when you wisper to the wall you can be clearly heart on the other end of 35m cupola.
But back to the hotel review. Rooms were confortable, shower ok and even though beer is not common in this area room service offered to bring us some. Hotel restaurant served decent meals for lowest price we ever had in India and they recommanded us a bar accross the street where you can get only through underground parking place where they even served beer.
We almost got a hotel for free because when we wanted to pay with card the terminal said it's not accepted and the clerk though the payment went through. Only after we asked to try again we learnt that we have to use another payment card.
I also managed to send a postcard from the postoffice next door for only RS 10 to Europe which I think is very low price (I do not know Indian post rates)
