Pozhiyoram Beach Resort, Alappuzha
Four years ago the place was called Ananda Beach Home and was rather primitive. Fortunately, a lot has changed for the better. I stayed in the beach view cottage that is now equipped with a lot of useful things. The verandah has been glassed in, forming an additional room. The AC worked well and the WiFi was fast and reliable. There is even a small fridge in the room to keep your drinks cool. There was a problem with the water tap in the bathroom which did not work properly. So I approached Mr Cyrus Joseph who acted real fast. An hour later a plumber arrived and fixed a new tap within half an hour. That's what I like about India : Anything is possible. The cottage is only about five meters away from the sea, so the waves make the only sound you hear at night. The beach in front of the resort is very lonely. Breakfast is prepared right there on the premises. You can choose between different styles, but fresh fruit and black coffee are alway served. I liked the tasty omelet, but my favorite was the Kerala style breakfast with chickpea curry. For dinner there was a menu to choose from. The food was delivered from a nearby restaurant. I tried an Ayurveda massage which proved to be an interesting experience. Every evening I was served a pot of black coffee free...Pozhiyoram Beach Resort, Alappuzha

The final bill was very reasonable and my Mastercard was accepted. So the Pozhiyoram Beach Resort is the ideal place for you if you like peace and quiet and enjoy a little of that famous Robinson Crusoe feeling. Highly recommended! More
