Pozhiyoram is located in Alappuzha is a beach side resort which is calm and away from the city. The only sound is that of the sea and tides. Enough place for children to play sand games and any other kind of activities The beach is small and is not private. We can see fishermen engaged in day to day activates with their boats and nets.
The resort is clean and staff are very co operating and are ready to prepare our choice of food in a delicious manner. Hospitality is excellent and are ready to hear us.
We were around seven families together stayed there. They arranged a camp fire in the night . Rooms are average in size and bathrooms are with open roof for some cottages. The only problem we faced was the bad smell from the sea some times and the presence of wandering cats nearby.

Our family took a train from varkala to alleppey with a total time of 3.5 hours. The ride from the station to the resort is a 20 min ride. For transportation you can either book the prepaid auto or taxi which is near the railway station. The charges are fixed by the govt.
Reaching the Pozhiyoram Beach Resort you are greeted by the owner and his staff Mr Sonu. Fresh lemon drinks were ofdered to us by them and our luggage carried to the 1st floor of the main building. The view is almost surreal with the beach. The rooms are big and luminous with the whole rooms and doors with a vintage touch. Mr Sonu only booked our Kerala backwaters for rs 1000 per person for 3 hours for a full private tour. And Mr Harry took us to a small food plave called Tasty Lands where two kites Karan and Arjun where the main attractions. After the trip we went back to the hotel and enjoyed the Pozhiyoram Beach which is just behind the resort with no traffic.
The food though not made at the resort is brought from the Pozhiyoram Restaurant which mind is tasty and the quantity is appreciable.
Also I would like to mention a small place to eat Shri Mahavir Veg Dhaba which is near the starting point of Kerala Backwaters which has some seriously tasty food.
Also Mr Sonu booked us a cab from Alleppey to Thekkady with a small tour to the Alleppey Lighthouse and Alleppey beach included in the price which is just Rs 200 more than the Prepaid Taxi for the same Alleppey to Thekkady(rs 3800).
The driver Mr Mathew who is the nicest person I ever met was not only our driver but our guide to all the names and places. He not only does these short trips but also long trips. (8281566046)

All in all our stay was made very comfortable at the resort which will be under renovation from March.

Just few stap away from crowded Alleppey beach , this Pozhiyoram beach resort on the tranquil and serene Thumpoly beach is a perfect stay at Alleppey. The property is just awesome and clean. We 2 reach there just on a day when our accompanied car get troubled, next day was general strike at Kerala and we next day had a booking at Kumarkom houseboat. The Owner himself took the responsibility and arrange a car for us so that we reach the Houseboat safely. The Restaurant here have a very tasty food. The Staffs having very friendly behavior and very much helpful. We love to be here again . The walk from crowded Alleppey beact to this Thumpoly beach is an awesome transition from noise to calmness. The fisherman and their activity and fisheries boat added an additional dimension of beauty to this Thumpoly beach .
