We visited the Alleppey beach after our overnight stay in the houseboats, Its just a few kms from the Finishing point of Houseboats, We reached the beach by 9:30 it was quite hot even by 9:30 in the morning, Take a hat and good amount of sun screen lotion, There is a camel ride do bargain with them if you plan to ride 100-150rs is what we paid, Waves could be stronger at times so be careful about it, There is nothing much here apart from the sand and waves.
We found Marari beach to be much better and scenic with trees on the shore. But Marari beach is around 15kms away while Alleppey beach is just 2-3 kms from where houseboats complete their journey. Either visit early morning or by evening. After 9:00 it gets pretty hot.
Lifeguards were present on the beach controlling overzealous youngsters which was a very good sign
