Private Tour: Full-Day Madurai Tour Including Meenakshi Amman Temple and Gandhi...

This temple is situated little outside of Madurai, you need a cab to travel around half an hour to reach this temple. You will be welcomed by several monkeys. The initial temple is bright and colorful full of mystic carvings. You can light up the lamps here and throw some butter on the goddess kali to cool her anger.
In the backyard you need to visit the temple in a queue for both free and paid entrance, the inner carvings and play of sunlight is really good. You need your time to visit here.
A must after famous Madurai temple. There is a lake and a school for monks inside this rock cut temple.

Thirupparunkunram Lord Subramanya Swamy temple is one of the six abodes of Lord Murugan. It is situated about 10kms from Madurai and is on top of a hill. It was one evening when we went to the temple up the hill. The legend behind this place is that Lord Murugan wedded Deivaanai after his victory over the asuras (demons). Lord Muguran here is in wedding pose with all the Gods showering flowers on the couple. In addition to Lord Murugan, there are sannidhis for Shiva, Vishnu, Durga and Ganapathy.

The environment is full of green and is peaceful. We got good darshan through the special entrance. It would take about 1 hour approximately to spend good time in the temple. The temple is located at the outskirts of Madurai and it took considerable time to reach this place. At the foothill, we got to see white peacocks which are rare.
