Externally the hotel was good. When we got into the hotel, it was definitely very clean as it appears on the website. However, it did not have a restaurant (they say it is expected to open up shortly). We booked a superdelux room for 3 nights. When we arrived at the hotel, there was nobody to help us with our bags which is normally expected. They took the trouble to serve us breakfast which we liked. The room service guy was extremely good and pleasant. Though the hotel was extremely clean, it did not give a 3 star feel. The room was not being cleaned on a daily basis, towels not changed and considering we booked a superdelux room, we did expect them to provide tissue papers, toilet papers, soaps, without our asking for it. However, when we requested them for these accessories, they provided for them instantly. Room service should definitely improve like when we finish breakfast, the guy should come back after a reasonable amount of time to collect the left over stuff. That did not happen without being told to do it. It is a new hotel and so the Management should take care of these small nitigrities for its own good and to build up the reputation of the hotel. The reception guy, Mr. Shaji though was very cheerful and cordial with us. I am writing this review only for the overall good of the hotel.

For our recent trip to Kerala we stayed in Hotel Picassa Castle in Alleppy. We picked this hotel due to its Business hotel status expecting a professional service which turned out to be a far cry!

Location : The hotel is situated in a noisy busy street.

The Hotel : A few years old, it is a small neat looking building with a small parking and giving claustrophobia to people like me once you are inside.

Maintenance : Could have been better!

STAFF : Totally UNPROFESSIONAL!
The hotel Manager called Vipin or Bipin had attitude problem. He did not seem to know the actual meaning of customer service. At the time of checking out, he even asked us, to our horror, whether we carried hotel towel with us!!! We found it quite awkward and demanded a cross check with his housekeeping girl who cleared us at once. The guy feeling embarrassed, sheepishly passed the blame to his housekeeping dept. The whole episode was so funny yet infuriating. However, we SPARED him from having to apologize formally as he had already made a fool of himself in front of all.

Service : Poor, slow and very unprofessional!
When we landed there, no double room was ready despite our prior booking and the hotel being nearly EMPTY! We were given a room which seemed hurriedly done probably while we were at the reception. GOSH! WERE THEY SLEEPING OR WHAT!!Beds were not properly joined, a layer of dust was all over the furniture and on the faded wooden floor. Cobwebs were hanging here and there. Bathroom tap was not working properly. Window panes were dirty too.
At our demand we were shown another room almost the same. Anyway, we decided to settle there and guess what, there were some more issues lined up for us! On our request only, we were provided with hand towel, water jug (water was missing!)and toilet roll!! Later when we asked for the missing AC remote, we learnt ,to our shock that MMT has done our booking for non – ac room!!! Another shock was that Breakfast was not included in our package in spite of paying for that!!! Oh my God! Make My Trip had taken us for a ride again!!!
When we argued with the hotel manager (Vipin) he washed off his hands saying that it is between you and Make my Trip, the hotel is not liable. Well, we had no choice but to pay for AC as the climate was humid.

Room status : (ONLY SOLACE!)Room had nice furniture with good lightings. Neat and clean beddings were used. Bathroom though cramped and dimly lit had expensive fittings and basic toiletries were provided. WISH THEY HAD KEPT THE ROOM CLEAN AND DUST FREE!

FOOD : Yet another MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!! Why the hell do they serve north Indian dishes when they do not even know anything about them!!! Our Food came to our room all the way Uncovered!!! That was the last meal we ordered in that hotel.

All in all, an unpleasant experience!!

I stayed one night in the Picassocastle after a boat tour on the backwaters close to Allepey.
My arrival at the Hotel was very pleasant, staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
The room I had faced the road in front of the hotel (minimal traffic noise, esp. at night time). Room was clean, modern and spacious. (However, if you come in search of Picasso you might don't even come close to Allepey) .
Roomservice was fast and reliable, the choice that the menu gives is ok and the food is nice.
What surprised me: They also had many things in the bathroom like toothbrushes, all kinds of soaps and shampoos etc, shower caps, those Q-Tip ear buds, (those things are acutally supposed to be self-evident but aren't in many hotels nowadays).

I can really advice this hotel for a shortterm stay like I had moreover I could have stayed there longer if Allepey had more to offer.
