The food was unbelievable here and there was a lot of it. The hotel is nice and quiet but unless you're willing to hang out in a hammock, there wasn't much to do. We took a boat ride along the backwaters to kill time. The room was too dark for reading, but had some history. The owner was nice but tended to sit with you while you ate, which made me uncomfortable. Did not want to offend since his Mum was the cook, but seemed a tad intrusive for me.

Thanks for the review. From the name and profile I could not recognise the guest. But I think he misunderstood our Homestay as a hotel. When we have guests in our Homestay we always think they do visit us to get to know about our culture history etc. And we can make out how much you would like involve in such talks. If I sit with you I do believe you showed me the interest to talk. Well I understand the guest's expectations were different. We do have various activities in our property such as Canoe boat tour, motor boat tour bikes to roam around the village, guided village walk tour etc. May be you were expecting a hotel experience and sorry that we could not met that.

This was the perfect place to stay if you want to learn about how the real Kerala ticks. The host, Rajeev, is a wonderful source of local knowledge and could not have been more helpful. The accommodation is authentic and the location, on the banks of the Keralan backwaters ,was absolutely wonderful.Rajeev's mother is a brilliant traditional cook and I can't recommend this delightful stop highly enough.

We stayed for a week from 16 Feb 2017. We had a wonderful time, very peaceful, great food, really beautiful and interesting location. Rajeev is a genial and engaging host. We loved the walk to the ferry and the journey into Alleppey (Byriani at Kream Korner is a must!). 4 stars not 5 because 1) the houseboaters which docked there overnight felt entitled to avail themselves of the garden and at these prices that's not really on. 2) the rooms could offer a tick more comfort and as such are a little overpriced. Otherwise, Rajeev, we're looking forward to seeing you there again as soon as we've saved enough rupees (and you've arranged a simpler way to pay, haha) ! Martin & Annecatrin

The room was dark with reading lamps useless for reading. Only way to brighten the room up was to use the bare fluorescent light on the wall opposite the bed, which is just ugly. The food was fantastic, the beds were comfortable. Tricky to find in a cab. Very quiet and nice view of the houseboats right in front of the property.

Our stay at the Pamba Heritage Villa was exceptional. It provides a quiet, scenic, relaxed atmosphere where you can watch river traffic, birds, and riverside activities and walk to local villages. The owner, Rajeev, gave us a lot of attention and asked for our preferences in food and activities. He explained the local cuisine and how it was prepared. His mother, who cooks for the guests, shared a favorite recipe. Rajeev took us on a walk and explained the activities of the rural village life. We had a nice visit to a local elementary school.
The room was clean and spacious with a nice view of the river. The home cooked meals were very good. This is the best place to experience the Kerala backwaters.
