I stayed at Nelpura with my brother in law ,sister and niece in July 2011 . We really enjoyed the boat ride to reach the place. But what struck me most about Nelpura was the warmth of our hosts, the homeliness of our accommodation and the beauty of the surrounding area. The food namely Kappa ,meen and duck roast to mention a few, really gave our culinary senses something to relish and remember for a long time to come.Prof Chacko was always at hand to assist us and to provide his valuable insight into an array of topics ranging from farming, local customs ,religion to politics.Nelpura really gave us time to relax from the hectic day to day buzz and took us back to a bygone era where people used to live in close sync with mother nature. The stay really allowed us to introspect on the current pace of life and eroding values and we went back refreshed to fulfill our chores, for yet another year, promising to go back to Nelpura next holidays for renewal of energy and mind.
