This Gorgeous property was one big pleasant surprise. Allepey is veritably, the Venice of Kerala. Narrow roads that twine between old, beautiful, classic Kerala homes. The distinct smell of the backwaters, mingle with the smell of exotic spices. You reach the private boat point of punnamada. This is where they take you on their boat to the property. Your experience begins here. Right from the smiling, well trained staff, architecture, food, location... This property I would rate Tops. Immaculately clean lawns, linen that smell fresh & sweet, open to the sky washrooms with wonderful hot water at good pressure. This property is tastefully curated & very professionally run by Mr.Rajan Mathew, who is in charge of all their 3 properties in Kerala as well as their luxury Houseboats. Mr.Mathew is a charming gentleman with years of experience in top hotels across the globe. He engages with all his guests & yet keeps a keen eye on the running of the property. Punnamada is a 10 acre property with exactly 1 Km of water frontage. Their 37 cottages are beautifully styled in laterite & wood paneling. The famed Kerala aesthetics can be seen in every corner of the property. Food in Punnamada needs a special mention. Chefs dish up different cuisines to suit each palette. I however was looking for a traditional meal & boy did I have a feast! From the Kerala boiled rice, the sambar, cabbage thoran, Allepey Fish...This Gorgeous property was one big pleasant surprise.

From the Kerala boiled rice, the sambar, cabbage thoran, Allepey Fish curry & papadom to top it. This was the soul food I was looking forward to.

Their expansive lawns have weddings take place regularly. And I can imagine this as a perfect place for a destination wedding.

The Houseboats are perhaps the best i have seen. Completely air conditioned, very spacious & tasteful decor.
