Reviewed 16 April 2012

my mom, dad, wife and 15mo old all stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. very nice from start to finish. easy access to town (~2 min drive) and very nice mountain views. pools were nicely kept. rooms were nicely appointed and kitchen was complete. back patio was nice to sit on at night with a cold beverage! would stay again and recommend! Stayed in 1133 from 4/13/12-4/16/2012

Came across a week available here on RCI for $370 while the kids were on spring break. We snatched it up not knowing if we'd end up with the 1 bedroom standard or 1 bedroom deluxe for the MountainLoft 2 part of the complex. Phoned the resort and they told us they'd be able to let us know a week after we booked. This turned into - 1 month before check in, 2 weeks before, 1 week before. We finally found out it was the deluxe 2 days before we were to check in. Nice to get the better room, pain that they couldn't figure out how or when to tell us earlier.

We checked in and got the standard offer for attraction tickets to listen to the BlueGreen time share spiel. They offer the basic/cheaper attractions, but you can get anything if you ask. We wanted the Lumberjack duel dinner show and received 4 tickets. Be warned, the pitch is pretty hardcore though they try to say they're a soft sell. Do you research on the outfit. We didn't but weren't planning to buy. Checking them out afterwards was enlightening and we're glad we didn't end up getting reeled in. They'll tell you it will be a 90min - 2 hour presentation, but it's really 3.

Anyway, the resort was ok, nothing great or terrible. I expected a little nicer for the level its considered at RCI. No maid service, garbage situation was pretty messed up having to haul it pretty far to a dumpster. Being early in the season the only pools etc open were at the main resort center, none of the satellites even though the whether was 70+.

Location is great. Just off the main drag of downtown Gatlinburg, a little bit away from all the tourist stuff. If you take the scenic drive through the smokys the exit road drops you off right near the resort. There's a grocery store a block further up the road and some nice restaurants and BBQ a little farther if you'd like to try them.

All in, I'd stay here again at this price, but would probably consider others if it were much more.

Room Tip: I think if you're exchanging here you don't have a lot of say in terms of units you get. Yo...

We just spent a week at MountainLoft Resort. Our 1-bedroom was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The resort staff was friendly and helpful. The resort offered a wide range of activities for all ages. We selected this resort through a timeshare exchange program. The only problem is the resort had us staying Friday through Friday. I did have to show my confirmation for a Saturday through Saturday stay, once I did there wasn't any questions asked. I would suggest you take a copy of your confirmation with you, without it, we would have been charged for an extra night. The only negatives were the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors at times and the couch/hide-a-bed needed new cushions.Overall we were every pleased with the resort and loved the week spent in the Smokie Mountains.

I don't know why there are so many negetive reviews of this resort. As B-G owners with many resorts to choose from, we keep going back to Mountainloft. The grounds are immaculate and we can watch bears amble around in the woods early in the morning from our balcony. All of the villas we've stayed in, both one and two BR have been great and spacious. The people are wonderful and so helpful! If there's been a problem or we've had a question, it's been taken care of literally within minutes. The beds are amazingly comfortable and everything's been clean and neat as a pin. It's close by to so many things, including the grocery store so that there's no need to run out to get food for every meal unless you choose to. People complain about the internet, but we always bring our wi-fi and even in the mts. get wonderful, speedy reception. Just to give you some idea of how great the resort and the area are, when asked whether he'd rather go back to Tenn. or to Disney, he emphatically choose Tenn.
