Description: I am the owner of Gustavus Inn. Our restaurant was named "America's Classic 2010" by the James Beard Foundation. Although we are a hotel, I thought we should appear in the Gustavus, Alaska restaurant listings. We serve dinner nightly to our hotel guests and if we have room, a few extras. Our menus rotate during the week depending on guest preferences. There is only one entree, always seafood and garden bounty. Nightly we feature a foraged wild edible on the bar or table. Meat is served only to accommodate house guests by prior order. Since we prepare everything from scratch onsite, we can happily accommodate dietary restriction with advance notice. My suggestion for dining at the Gustavus Inn is to stay here for guaranteed reservations in the dining room.

We stayed 3 nights at Glacier Bay lodge prior to going fishing.
This is a rustic lodge with no TV's, internet only in lobby.
The rooms are cozy we had one that overlooked the bay. The scenery is beautiful.
They have only 1 place to eat and prices reflect Alaska and that everything is flown in.
We were treated very well, the staff very friendly.
Plan to do the cruise to Marguerite glacier and then we hired a local driver to take us around the town-this was so much fun we saw many out of the way places and had some great local food

I believe this was posted on the wrong property. We are Gustavus Inn in the town of Gustavus. This poster said "Glacier Bay Lodge" Anyway I am happy you had a good time on the Glacier Bay Boat Tour and tour with Strawberry Tours!

Loved the journey getting into this place, which is located within a National Park, we dined here and spent the evening. In the restaurant we feasted on Fresh Salmon, the best I have ever tasted, the crab is really good also.

Gustavus Inn hosted us during our many visits to Gustavus, starting Year 2000 to 2016. The services were outstanding. We fall in love with the Inn. We love the people there.

We actually stayed at the Inn and did eat all our meals there. This is a James Beard award winning dining experience. Turns out other lodges send their guests there and the locals also eat there often. Great experience.

Gustavus is a quirky off the beaten track community and is the gateway to Glacier Bay. For over 30 years, Dave and JoAnn Lesh have honed perfection at Gustavus Inn.

Plan to be enchanted by the vegetable and flower garden before dinner. Then grab a beverage and enjoy appetizers at the bar or on the decks. Finally, I hope you bring an appetite as you are seated at big tables to feast. Everything that can be sourced locally is. Meals are served family style, so plan to engage others in worldly conversation regarding all sectors of the globe. Gourmet home cooking at its best! Fresh baked rolls, salad from the garden, kelp pickles, veggies, etc. Local seafood is the forte. The meal concludes with wonderful desserts.

If you are not staying at the Inn, you must make reservations in advance. If you are in town long enough and you and the Inn are flexible, ask what the menus will be to pick your favorite. Meals are $50/person without beverages, but definitely a worthwhile indulgence.
