The location is good if you are going to be working in the MetroTech Center - across the street. It's about a 20-30 min drive from LGA airport most times of day.
The rooms are average for hampton inn, small, but not overly small compared to other NYC hotels (which run small compared to the rest of USA)
The breakfast - I am not a fan of the Hampton Inn Breakfast at any hampton Inn.
If you like starches/carbs you will be pretty happy: waffle maker, muffins, breads
If you like proteins you will not be happy: 4 of 5 days I had the same omlette which is mass produced item that is likely frozen and reheated at the hotel. It is not good. It is edible. They alternated between sausage links and sausage patties, of similar quality as the omlette. Since I don't eat the other types of starches or sweets they had out, that was my breakfast every day. It grew tiresome.
I would point out this is true of all Hampton Inn, not simply this one.
All staff were cordial.
The location of the hotel is very good for working in the area, but bad for noise. It sits on the corner of two very busy roads that never really get quiet at night. On the 6th floor I had trouble sleeping. On the 3rd night I bought ear plugs which solved the problem. Their is a CVS about a 15-20 min walk on Flatbush.
My room had a very small fridge. There is a grocery store (NYC fresh store) about 5 min walk away which allowed me to keep a few things in the fridge (it is small - perhaps a 6 pack of soda would fit, but not much more. I am unique in that I prefer to eat fresh foods in my hotel room when I travel. I travel for work, and if I eat out all the time, I do not tend to make healthy choices. If you prefer to eat out - a 10-20 minute walk on flatbush ave will give you plenty of choices, as well as shopping.
So - good hotel - bring ear plugs to sleep unless you are accustom to the constant drone of car horns and occasional sirens.
Very cordial staff.
Close options to buy fresh food.
Breakfast is good if you like carbs.
