Owner description: Opened in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge provides passage between Brooklyn and Manhattan for motorists, trains, bicycles and pedestrians. One of the primary symbols of New York City, it is a marvel of design and provides spectacular views of the city's skyline.

I like this bridge very much, great work. When we visited a lot of work was going on and that was a bit negative, but when you visit NY then you have to walk this bridge.

We took a stroll on a late afternoon & again saw it from a ferry - both times the bridge made an unforgettable impression on us. It's fascinating not only to walk on it to reach Brooklyn but also to admire the views! Manhattan Bridge is just across & the Downtown can be seen too making an impressing viewing in the evening or at night. It takes about 30mins to cross the bridge to the other side.

First of all, in the interest of full disclosure, I have walked across every bridge in NYC that has a pedestrian walkway and the Brooklyn Bridge remains the one with the most stunning view.

If you're going from Manhattan in Brooklyn, be sure to stop by Jacques Torres' original location for some Milk Chocolate-Covered Macadamia Nuts or Mendiants. Then take in the view (and take out your camera) as you visit Brooklyn Bridge Park.

If you walk from Brooklyn into Manhattan, meander your way to South Street Seaport for drinks and the sight of boats coming in and out of Pier 17.

Cheers!

This is a great, easy walk that allows you to see the city from a unique perspective. Definitely bring a camera. Be sure to check the weather forecast before planning your trek. The wind can be quite strong so dress accordingly. Be sure to stay to the right to be curtious to runners and cyclists.
