I decided to stay in this hotel because it seemed well-located, had free parking, was inexpensive and got relatively good reviews. What a mistake! My room is roughly 15-20 feet from a very active road and there is no curtains (!). As in, the blinds do not even block out the light from the porch room. The road noise is insane. Street sweeper came by at 4am and lit up my room and also sounded like it was in the room with me. The room itself is an afterthought. The air conditioning unit is an ancient window unit and there is no counter space to hear of. I haven't tried the tv, but the cable box (or something) is perched precariously on top of it. Asked the desk to switch and they said no. This should not be a room. It is a money grab plain and simple. I will never stay here again (I frequently travel to Boston) and would recommend you look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Make sure not to get a room facing the road. I don't know that others are any better.

Unfortunately, the Town street sweeping is beyond the Inn's control. The Longwood Inn, is located in very desirable Brookline, on famed Longwood Ave. It would not be considered a "vey active road." However, it is unfortunate, but some guests are not used to a city environment. All our rooms have been recently renovated, with all new bathrooms. Because of the original age of the inn "a victorian mansion" each room has it's own air conditioner. Our inn is frequently full, and therefore not the capability to relocate a guest to another room.

This little inn near the hospitals is a great find. The price is reasonable, it has free parking, it's spotlessly clean. A lovely old mansion converted to a small inn. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and there is a shared kitchen and dining area where people can store food and cook for themselves. A patio in the front, a deck in the back, and an easy 10 minute walk to the hospitals. This is a real find among the overpriced Boston hotels.

Room Tip: Our room was in the first floor, street level, and did have traffic noise. A room near the back may...

My daughter lived in Boston for 9 years and unfortunately I only discovered this wonderful, charming, and convenient establishment as I was helping her pack up and move! Whenever I need to spend time in Boston fron now on it will be here!
Historic features have been beautifully preserved yet all modern amenities exist here! Rooms are all unique and tastefully decorated.
Location is superb to anything you may want to do in town. (like a game at Fenway) Neighborhood is quiet and free parking so great. Utilize the common kitchen and have your breakfast on a tree encircled deck or patio. I almost hate giving such a good review. It might mean I can't get a reservation once the secret is out!

Cancellation policies are applied beyond reason - booked a room and in less than ONE hour realized I'd made a mistake and needed to cancel. Request denied and a charge applied of over $200 when the booking was more than 7 weeks away. Understand the need for a set policy but given the timeline this is unconscionable.

Nice inn very close to T and Harvard. Walking distance to wonderful restaurants. Only issue was with the WIFI....very spotty connections. Main refrigerator was also "on the blink," as neither water nor ice were working. Had to know to use refrigerator and ice machine in basement.
