This restaurant has its regulars who are treated in the highest regard by the staff. Go with a local and experience service that's second to none. Be ready to drop $100 pp with wine and appetizers.

Vegetables are a real test of a chef, and not being too hungry, I ordered the chevre cream spinach and brussel sprouts with lardon and onions. Oh my. As a visiting New Englander who grew up with boiled dinners, I discovered succulent spinach (is such a thing possible?) and juicy brussel sprouts, so different from the hard, bitter knobs my mother made me eat. At $5 each, I had a meal but ordered the wild mushroom risotto and the smoked duck pizza. This was going to be a big night. The risotto filled me and my grandest hopes for a richly textured, al dente experience and only another $5. The smoked duck pizza ($12) was perfect - a light thin crust with generous chunks, red onion slices, chevre, and other delights that blended perfectly. So here is an interesting experience, a great meal by a sublime chef without getting to the entres. The waiters were well-trained, quick, and friendly. Atmosphere was spacious, quiet, well appointed, except for many painting by local artists who have skill but no talent, whose garish landscapes shouldn't be hung. Food 24, service 24, atmosphere 24 (except for those paintings). 4 courses for $27 plus wine.

This restaurant is in an old inn in the heart of the historic district. Very pleasant ambiance and service. We made a last-minute reservation to dine early. Judging from the way the placed filled in, I would suggest a little more planning ahead, if you want to eat in prime time.

Bisro 45 is the restaurant in a wonderful old hotel on the main street of Savannah. It has a lovely atmosphere and we had a wonderful table at a window watching people strolling on a lovely Spring evening. We had cocktails that were excellent and the service was superb. We had wonderful sourdough bread with our cocktails. The only problem was that the food was so so at best. The menu was interesting but one of our party was a vegetarian. The only option offered was ordering from a limited selection of alacarte vegetable sides. Not a real exciting dinner. Our waiter recommended the crab Omlete. Lots of Omlete, not much crab for $41. Overall, routine food at best for high end prices. Don't waste your time here. There are too many wonderful restaurants in Savannah.

We ate at Bistro 45,located in the Marshall House on March 16th. Service was as it should be in a fine restaurant and the food was exceptional. The manager checked on us not once but twice. We had a fabulous beef carpaccio appetizer , and the pan seared grouper and lamb as entrees. Both were delicious and beautifully presented.
We would definitely encourage anyone to spurge a little bit and try this restaurant. It is well worth it.
After walking around the beautiful City of Savannah for a while, we returned for dessert and after dinner drinks in the bar. We had a great dessert and brandy.
The only flaw, if you could call it that, was the price of the drinks and dessert in the bar. $40 is a tad steep for two brandys and two pieces of dacquiose. However we would probably order the same thing again.
Try it sometime. You too will be impressed.
