The Kehoe House - A Boutique Inn

The Kehoe House has been a wonderful experience. My husband and I spent our tenth anniversary in Savannah and decided to try out the Kehoe House. As our last name is Kehoe, we were curious if there was a family connection. There may or may not be, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were given the Mercer room, named after Johnny Mercer, who wrote Moon River. It was truly lovely. The breakfasts were tasty and the concierge service was very helpful in making reservations and giving tips on what to see. We highly recommend this B&B!

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the rear of the house, as it's quieter.

For about $200 (including taxes and parking), this is a good pick in Savannah. It is located blocks away from good restaurants and shopping and a short walk to the river. It is also a stop along the routes for the hop on/hop off tour trolleys. Check-in was very pleasant and we were escorted to our room on the second floor. It is accessible by elevator or stairs. There were two free bottles of water in the room (always nice) and Internet service. There was a very small TV in the wardrobe closet, King bed with comfortable bedding, shower (no tub), desk, chairs and a clock radio. The floors were wood, but the house is not as noisy as I thought it would be because of the lack of rugs. A wine reception (we did not partake) and a large breakfast were included. My only complaint worth noting is that the person at the front desk was not able to answer a few of our questions (such as what is the history of the house across the square). Overall, this was a nice and cozy bed and breakfast in a great location.

We spent 3 wonderful days and nights in Savannah at Kehoe House. Located on a picturesque, quiet square and an easy walk to all of the historic area and the riverfront. The concierges, particularly Haley and Phil, were so helpful with reservations, answers to questions, and requests for service. We had a lovely corner room (the Oglethorpe) with a small balcony that had a wonderful view and our friends had another room (the Fiore) with a larger balcony -- perfect for a glass of wine. Lots of food -- cooked to order breakfasts, wine and appetizers that were quite tasty in the afternoon, dessert in the evening, and turndown service with cookies! Fun to talk with the other guests at breakfast and afternoon wine! There are lots of choices in Savannah, but we were really happy that we chose Kehoe House.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor -- quiet. If there are two couples traveling together, choose the Fiore...

Wife and I stayed here while meeting up with other family for Easter weekend. We had never been to Savannah before and were looking to experience the whole historical/B&B feel of the city. Kehoe house didn't disappoint!

It's a beautiful property in a great location in Savannah's historic district - close to many restaurants, stores, and the riverfront area. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and our room (John Wesley) was spacious and had a great view of Columbia Square. The rooms were well-furnished and the bed was comfy with lots of pillows. Housekeeping was timely and thorough, and the dining/sitting rooms on the main floor were great places to enjoy breakfast and the wine and cheese hour. Parking was easy, just about a block away.

I wavered back and forth between giving this hotel a 4 or a 5... there are only a couple things that are holding be back from "rounding up" a 4.5. First, for the room rate, I would have expected the rooms to be a bit less "rustic"... they weren't exactly run-down, but a little maintenance (paint, bathroom grout work, etc) would go a long way. Second, the breakfast was decent but nothing fantastic. I'm not sure if this is just because of the volume they need to cook for a B&B of this size, but it's basically equivalent to what you'd find at a good diner, and not nearly as fast. This isn't a strong complaint, but just a definite area for improvement... the rooms and the property is so nice, the whole package could be phenomenal if they could ramp up breakfast a bit.

Overall, I'd recommend the Kehoe House to others coming to Savannah. We had a very positive experience and the B&B made a great backdrop for the "Southern charm" of the rest of the city.

Room Tip: Get a street/square view if possible... at night, you can watch people on "ghost tours" ga...

The Kehoe House set the perfect tone for a most memorable visit to Savannah. The mansion is beautiful and the guest rooms lovely, each unique, very comfortable and quite charming. We had two rooms adjoined by a veranda....perfect for enjoying the wonderful breakfasts! We truly felt like we were experiencing Savannah, not just staying in a hotel. The wine, cheese, cakes and cookies were all extra special touches. We were so sad when it was time to leave and hope to visit again soon. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants a wonderful Savannah experience!!

Room Tip: We had two couples traveling. We booked the Johnny Mercer and Bolzius rooms. Both quite lovely and...
