“Family style restaurant, you never know who you will sit with, CASH ONLY”

The food is southern comfort, I recommend getting there early, not many seats and they fill up quick. You have to have cash or check.

“Great Experience, But left me needing a liter of water”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 February 2010

Fun atmosphere, group seating makes it fun, incredible variety of dishes served....Mrs Wilkes was everything I expected and more. The only down side is that one of the "mores" was so much salt that I was on my third bottle of water within an hour. I'd still recommend

“Don't Eat a BreakFast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2010

Dine here when you're hungry and ready for excellent food. This is truly a different dining experience, all focused on a large table full of southern prepared food - fried chicken, barbecued pork, sausage, beef stew, cornbread and over a dozen other sides topped off with dessert.

The only draw back I found relates to the short amount of time you're actually in the dining room. As you enter, you are directed to one of a few large tables, set and ready for patrons. The moment you sit down, food is passed around and you begin to eat. As I stated earlier, the food is outstanding. Since there is a line of people waiting outside, the general feeling is to eat and move on. I would have loved to take an hour to 1.5 hours and be able to share comments on what was being presented. No one asks you to leave, but you don't feel comfortable at your table especially when others at the table begin to leave and the line outside grows longer. That said, I would still highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

“I'm hungry just thinking about this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2010

Best fried chicken. Ever.
Perfect iced tea.
Too many delicious side dishes to even name.

You need to hit this place at least once in your life (remember -- closed on weekends and only open for a SHORT time on weekdays --- I think 11 AM to 2 PM.) Try to get in line before 11, and wait. I promise, it's an experience you won't stop talking about.
