“A Marvelous Experience”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

For our annual sister-bonding trip, we went to Savannah, Georgia. We arrived on the afternoon of March 29, 2012 for a 5-night stay at our B&B, the Green Palm Inn. We were greeted by our Hostess Diane and her assistant, Miss Tammy. First impression was “This place is adorable”! When the two of them carried all of our heavy luggage up to our 2nd floor rooms my second impression was “This place rocks”!! It only got better from there.

After we got settled in, Miss Tammy gave us a complete run down on the Inn and surrounding areas. And one of them was always available to answer any questions that we had. In fact, when we had a problem with our ghost tour, Diane personally called the company to straighten it out and we got comped to the tour.

The B&B is located in the historic district making a car unnecessary. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The rooms were extremely comfortable and each had a fridge complete with bottled water and a coffee pot with fixings for our convenience. The parlor was very comfortable, the dining room lovely, and the kitchen was available to us at all times.

Between incredible breakfasts and late afternoon hors d'oeuvres with wine, dieting will be a necessity before our next trip.

If possible, I would give The Green Palm Inn 10 stars!!

You girls were fabulous! Thank you again for coming to stay with us here at the Green Palm Inn! I will always remember the bears, the bracelets and the laughs. Thank you for sending me copies of your pictures. They were wonderful additions to my blog. Bring your hubbies back some time so that they can experience all the fun you had too. Have a wonderful summer and stay in touch!

This was quintessential Southern hospitality; a B&B experience at it's best! Diane and Tammy are both so warm and available to share tips and advice for touring and dining. The location in the Historic District made everything walkable. We stayed in the Sabal Palm Suite which was spacious and luxurious. The linens are lavish: layers and layers of pillows and quilts!
The breakfasts were so delicious and hearty, we found ourselves skipping lunch!! Sweets were always available (Don't miss the double-sided carrot cake cookies with cream cheese frosting in the middle!!) and there was wine and a variety of hors d'oeuvres every afternoon. Exercise restraint, or you won't be hungry for dinner either!

Room Tip: The Sabal Palm Suite is magnificent! The other three rooms are beautiful also, but this one is my f...

I am delighted you loved Savannah and the Green Palm Inn! That Sabal Palm suite is my favorite here at the Inn too. Perhaps when you come back to Savannah we can compare notes on what was your favorite thing to do here. Thank you for your very wonderful compliments and know you are always welcome here with us! Savannah becomes a little sultry in a month or so, just perfect to do a walking tour about the fabulous women of Savannah. Or perhaps a night time tour of Bonaventure Cemetery would be the ticket! Have a great summer!

We were welcomed into the Green Palm Inn by Tammy who went out of her way to ensure that we knew all about the things to do and where to eat while we were in Savannah, and were also given a very comprehensive tour of the house and its amenities. Our room was lovely, a little small (compared with some of the rooms we had stayed in in other B&B's) but charming and we didn't lack for anything. On our way out to explore we had a long chat with Diane (who had been out when we arrived and then was helping another guest move to a hotel for a conference), and a chance to sample some of the goodies laid out for tea. Tammy booked us in for a meal at the Alligator Soul (which was amazing) followed by a ghost walking tour after supper. We had a very comfortable night and breakfast the next morning was delicious and we loved it. We were very sorry that we couldn't spend more time in Savannah and at the Green Palm Inn - we would have loved to have spent time relaxing in the sitting room in the evening sipping the complimentary wine, enjoying the canapes and chatting to the other residents. Even in the short time we stayed there Diane became a friend.

We were hoping to talk with the owner and get some history about the house but were greeted than left to ourselves. We would haves liked to get some information about places to go (for exampe the next day we discovered there is a Dueling Piano). The afternoon cookies should have been served warm. The jazzui tub was nice after walking all day. The breakfast was good, would have been nice to include flavored coffee creamer. Next time we will save the money and stay in a hotel, the experience would be about the same.

I am truly sorry you and your husband feel you did not received the true B&B experience here at the Green Palm Inn. My assistant was to check you in and make sure you were comfortable and knowledgeable here in my home. Usually she takes quite a bit of time, as I do, going over our map and making sure you have all you need during your stay. I thought that was happening when she took you to your room during the wine and cheese hour. The next morning, while I served your breakfast, I truly wished you would have voiced any thing that was lacking while we were visiting during your breakfast. I certainly love to tell about the history of my home and would have shared it with you as we talked that morning. Hopefully you will give B&B's another try when visiting Savannah. You will always be welcome here at the Green Palm if you would like to visit us again!

We stayed at the Green Palm Inn during our spring break. It was the perfect oasis after long walks through Historic Savannah. The inn is pristine. The room was romantic, comfortable, well decorated, and well appointed. We slept on the most divine sheets! The afternoon refreshments were delicious and breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious as well. We would not hesitate to recommend the inn. Diane and Tammy made us feel right at home!

Room Tip: The inn only has four rooms, and even though ours was in the front of the house, it was very quiet a...

Thank you for your very warm and kind compliments. We love Savannah and enjoy sharing our town with all of our guests here at the Green Palm Inn. Our sheets are from the comphy company and if you'd ever like me to order some for you, I can have them dropped shipped to your home. I love their sheets and hopefully my other guests feel as you do - they are a little slice of heaven. Come back to Savannah and stay with us again! I'll bet we can find much more for you to do and enjoy while here in our little "Paris of the South" .
