I have been to Samos a few times and they really do have the best Greek food in Baltimore, and this is one of those places where it seems like everything they serve is good. The only bad part is that they do not take credit cards (cash only). The bathrooms are OK, but just OK. You have to park on the street, but I have never had a problem getting a place to park.

If you like Greek food this is the place to go in Baltimore. Prices are reasonable, the food is great. The staff is always very nice. A great place to get lunch with friends or family. You can not go wrong. I live over an hour away but make the trip a few times a year.

Samos is a favorite of mine. The restaurant is located in Greektown in two adjacent row houses at the end of a city block. They don't take reservations or credit cards so be prepared to pay in cash. It is not fancy so dress very casually and plan to wait in line during peak meal times. It doesn't have an especially pleasing atmosphere/decor, but part of the charm is that they are all about serving the best Greek food!

If you want to eat there solo they have a little counter in the front where you face the side of the chef. You can get served quickly if you don't mind people hanging around behind you waiting for a table.

The food is authentically Greek, delicious, and fairly priced. Their wait staff is efficient and friendly but not always fast when it is busy. Their avgolemono soup (chicken/lemon/egg/aborio rice) is fabulous--so flavorful and very comforting. I like to start out with a cup of that.

Love their Greek salad, especially their housemade dressing (secret/hint: they sell the dressing by the bottle and if you return the bottle for a refill it is cheaper. They don't advertise that they sell the dressing but regulars know about it). Spinach pie is good, but I think their neighbor, Ikaros, makes better spinach pie (spanakopita). With that said, I love the platter with a Greek salad and spinach pie (it may not be on the menu, but ask for it!) I always ask for anchovies, which 'makes' the salad. Souvlaki, gyros, and their entrees are delicious. You can't go wrong--really.

Save room for their homemade rice pudding, sprinkled with cinnamon and ask for some half-n-half (little containers) to pour on top. If you are too full then please ask for rice pudding to-go!

Parking is just within the neighborhood so sometimes you have to walk a couple blocks. If you plan to go in July/August, please call ahead as they close for a couple weeks for vacation during that timeframe. Also, if you call at lunchtime they don't answer the phone if it is crazy busy (they take it off the hook!) Sometimes you just have to show up to order carryout rather than call-in your order, but I think it is best to sit there and eat the food fresh from the kitchen.

It doesn't take plastic and you may have to stand in line, but the food is worth the wait. Get a little bit of everything. The restaurant is located a block off the main Greek Restaurant row. Everything is good.

Super fresh, tasty, simple. If you planning in going there, go early, it gets packed around 7 or later. Lots of fun for families.
