“Spending time lost in great art”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2012

The Walters Art Museum was an afternoon well spent. It is small enough to do in a day, but we really want to go back again to linger over our favorite parts. We discovered a new water colorist, Leon Bonvin, we did not know before and loved his works.

“Beautiful, educational, FREE museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2012

The Walters Art Museum is a must see. First, it is FREE, with the exception of special exhibitions. Secondly, there is something for everyone. There are kids art activities on the weekend, several different kinds of art, a cafe, and a gift store. My only regret is not being able to see everything. I was able to visit the first floor with the ancient Egyptian and ancient greek art. BEAUTIFUL!

This museum is also photo friendly (with the exception of loaned works of art/special exhibitions. If you don't do anything else in Baltimore, definitely visit the Walters!

“Great museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2012

Unbelievable collections at this museum and all free. Hard to begin but you may need several days to really see and appreciate all that is here--we have visited it many times and still see something neww all of the time. Egyptian, Persian, Arab art, Spanish art, medieval art, etc.etc.

“A Baltimore Treasure”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2012

I spent the better part of a day at the Walter earlier this month and truly enjoyed the experience. The special exhibit of Meso American art was not my cup of tea but nevertheless fascinating. Excellent free audio tour of the exhibit and then the rest of the museum. My only criticism, if you can call it that, is only because my favorite art period is Expressionism and apparently the Walters were not big fans of that movement; hence there are only a few of those in the permanent collection.
