We came stopped in around 3 PM, during the in-between hours. Things seemed a little disorganize. We ordered fish & chips and I also asked for a cup of chowder. Service was quite slow considering there we only a couple of other patrons. The meals came and still no soup. Twice someone came out and apologized for the delay before the soup arrived. It was better than a lot of chowder I have had but soup should come BEFORE the meal.

Arrived in Astoria yesterday after a long day of travel. Stopped at Clemente's for dinner. Charming interior right on the side of the Columbia River. Absolutely loving server who gave us excellent service. We ordered the salmon but wanted it prepared medium - no problem. My husband ordered the New York strip and wanted it cooked medium well. We hesitated to ask for this but the waitress asked the chef and he said it was "no problem". First we wolfed down the bread and cups of amazing clam chowder. Both meals were beautifully presented and cooked as requested. Yet both the salmon and the steak were juicy and tender. Then great coffee and both the amazing key lime pie and the decadent chocolate cake. To die for!! Then the chef came out to meet us. Gorden is also the owner. It was fun chatting with him and learning about his cooking heritage. If you want a nice surrounding, awesome views, great service and excellent food, this is your place. We will be back.

Had seen Clemente's many times while driving threw town but this was our first opportunity to stop. We were missing another great Astoria restaurant! For our early dinner hubby had Fish 'n Chips - excellent! I had a cup of chowder (very good) and wonderful crab cakes. We will waddle away happy and looking forward to our next great meal at Clemente's.

We were in Oregon a couple weeks ago on our vacation and by chance ended up here for dinner. We were wandering around looking for a place to eat and wanted to be by the water, passed this place and I loved the look so we went in. Greeted by incredibly friendly staff, we sat down at the bar for a bite and ended up staying for hours. The food was delicious from the bread to start the meal, to the chowder to the cioppino, we loved it all! Our bartender/server Jesse was great, offered fantastic recommendations and was very attentive. We had the pleasure chatting with the chef as well. It was an overall wonderful experience and we left very full and very happy.

I had the oysters and chips. The oysters were very fresh and cooked perfectly. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and really enjoyed it. The server was having trouble keeping up with the number of tables, but she was doing her best. We will go back next time we are in Astoria.
