“4th stay & planning to return”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2011

We continue to love this place. They take excellent care of us in the morning, then leave us in privacy the rest of the day. It is less like a hotel, and more like renting a renovated farm house and having a private chef show up to make breakfast. Our chef this year was extremely helpful, planned extras for us when we had to leave before regular breakfast hours. Not to mention everything she made was extremely delicious- half the reason we continue to stay here is how much we love the food, which I would describe as adventurous comfort food. Just different enough to feel special but not so crazy as to be alienating. We're working when we stay here so it is nice to have such a great place to come home to after our exhausting days. Farewell gift bags full of goodies was a nice way to end our week. Can't wait to return.

After booking my stay, I recieved a confirmation with a 48 hour cancellation policy without incurring any penalties. Further, their web site inconsistently states that there is a 5 day cancellation policy to avoid the penalty ranging from $25 to $100, with no explaination of the basis for the different charges. Due to various unavoidable circumstances, (including medical reasons), I cancelled my stay 9 days prior. However, when I received my credit card bill, I was charged $100 by the hotel. When I inquired about the charge, I was told it was a cancellation fee. Funny enough, when I cancelled, I got a cancellation confirmation e-mail, but never a mention of the penalty. They refuse to credit me the charge. So beware of the policies and the potential for their abuse of same!

We arrived at Le petit chateau after a long drive to be welcomed with individual cheese/fruit plates and wine, which we enjoyed by ourselves on the porch overlooking the pond. Right around the corner from the CIA, the FDR and the Eleanor R homes, and the Vanderbilt estate, it was super easy to see the sights and get back to the room to relax and refresh before dinner. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was large, new, and very clean. The extra little touches included nice bath products and soap, bathrobes, movies in the room, and (again) the wine/cheese plate upon arrival.

I would recommend this inn to anyone who likes a B&B that is comfortable, relaxed, and welcoming. Breakfast was delightful, decor was attractive but not overwhelmingly perfect. Location great for Hyde Park sites, Culinary Institute, other Hudson valley towns. Many private areas for friends to chat. Beautiful grounds. Joyce B

Three friends stayed here for touring and dining in Hyde Park and we could not have chosen a more delightful Inn and location. It was so central to all that we wanted to do and the host could not have been more helpful with suggestions and easy driving directions. She was so gracious I would visit this Inn again at any opportunity. The rooms were charming, spacious and all amenities were provided. A most restful and relaxing place to stay.

Room Tip: Many sleeping configurations, just ask.
