Sorry to say, the 1863 Inn is not worth the price. My wife, our small pup and I stayed Sept 2017.

Rooms are not 5* that you are being charge.

Only plus is that they allow dogs, but it cost $20.00 per day per dog.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. It would be very helpful if you could give us a bit more information. You really did not mention anything specific in your review and in checking our records there was no mention of an issue during your stay. We would have been happy to correct whatever problem you may have had but it was not brought to our attention. We do our best to make sure that every guest has an enjoyable stay. We would have loved the opportunity to address any concerns you may have had to avoid such a negative review. As for the pet fee, $20.00 is very reasonable when you consider what it may have cost you to board the dog and to set the record straight-it is only $20.00 per day-not per dog. If you would like to fill us in on what issues you thought you had during your stay please feel free to give us a call.

My husband and I visit Gettysburg several times a year but this was the first time we stayed at the 1863 Inn. The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I will be booking here again.

Room Tip: We stayed on the back side facing the parking lot so I'm guessing it's quieter than the street side.

I Loved it. Its pet friendly and very clean. Great Breakfast.
Great walking distance from the Cementary. Lots of shops near. The tiwn has a tbing where wherever you walk, you might find a rock. Ghettysburg's rocks. You might experience a ghost at night. They say theres a little boy haunting but hes not something to worry about (if you believe in these tbings.) We decided to keeo going there as our little weekend on the way hime from NY.

We chose this hotel because of its location in the Historic District of the city. A lot of the shops were in walking district. However, at this time of the year, many of the antique shops and gift shops had closed for the season.

Upon checking in, I asked the desk clerk if she could recommend a restaurant for our evening meal. She recommended an Irish Pub that was located across the street. Our food was excellent and the service was superb.

Our room was your normal hotel room; clean and neat. Even though our room was located at the front near a busy intersection, we were not bothered by any traffic noise.

My husband and I are not a big fan of hotel breakfasts (we average approx. 25 nights per year in a hotel). The hotel offered the normal hot breakfast of biscuits, gravy and eggs. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we discovered breakfast sandwiches on the buffet. There was also a pitcher of cold chocolate milk plus a carafe of ready-made hot chocolate. This was such a pleasant change from our normal continental breakfasts of cereal, toast and yogurt.

If we ever go that direction again, we certainly plan on staying at this hotel.
