“A great time and a different way of seeing the battlefields”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2011

This has got to be one of the best ways of seeing the battlefields, riding a horse and the best part is, it does not matter if you have ever rode a horse before or not, the folks that run this are very concerned for your safety and that of the horses. A couple of suggestions; 1)closed shoes and long pants are a must! 2) FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS from the folks at Confederate trails they have been working around horses a long time and know what they are talking about. 3) The ride is an hour or two long use the restroom before getting to their site as there was no restrooms at the time of our visit 4) If you have young children have them wear a helmut (They provide them and will insist that youngsters wear them 5) Enjoy the ride! you can not imagine the view from the trail on horse back. We delt with Katie and this gal is great! These horses are not just money making machines, they are part of the owners family and are treated as such. The price for a one hour tour is less than $50.00

“A new way to experience the Battle of Gettysburg”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2011

My younger brother goes to the college in Gettysburg and we visit once a year. After doing one bus tour and seeing most of the typical sites on town, taking the horseback riding tour of Gettysburg was a refreshingly new way to see the sites in Gettysburg. Riding through the same woods and trails that were actually used during the war was awe-inspiring. This ride was great because it was something everyone in our party was able to enjoy from my mom who has never been on a tour of Gettysburg, to my brother who lives there. It provided a good base of history all while touring the trails on horseback. I highly recommend this to anyone who visits Gettysburg, you don't need experience to ride, they have guides that help you along the way if it is needed.

“Great Experience for the Unexperienced Rider!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2011

We went on a trail ride with Katie and Doug in October. It was so much fun. The horses were gentle, the trail nonthreating, the scenery beautiful, and the hosts very funny, informative, and made us feel very comfortable. Thanks for a great time!

“Best thing to do while in Gettysburg”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2011

My husband and I did the 2 hour licensed guided battlefield tour. From beginning to end we had a great time. The horses are friendly and well trained. The staff was wonderful as well. Our guide was very informative and kept us entertained throughout the ride with interesting civil war stories. The route we took gave us a different perspective than other tours and took us right through the battlefields. Awesome time- thanks!

“This turned out to be the best experience of our trip to Gettysburg.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2011

My wife and I took the 2 hour tour and we learned so much that we did not know. Our tour guides Rachel and Andie were like old friends. I had never ridden a horse before and was a little nervous at first, but I had no problems at all during the tour. The horses were gentle and we trotted along at a slow pace. We traveled paths that General Robert E. Lee took and got a good feel of the terrain and why the battle lines were set up the way they were. There is just so much to be said about this tour that is positive. The tour of the battlefield was awsome and very relaxing. I will be going back next year and take some friends with us. Can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend this tour.
