We stayed (family of 5) for two nights over the President's Day Weekend, occupying an entire cabin, which is two units, so we had a total of 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen and living area. The cabins are well-appointed, very comfortable, and roomy. The hilly setting, on a semi-rural road about 10 minutes outside the town, is lovely. But only the first person using the shower each day got a semi-hot one! After that, the water was cold. We told the staffer at the front desk after our first night and she said she'd send maintenance. That night and the next morning we had the same experience. When we checked out, the front-desk staffer (a different one) was apologetic and knocked about 15% off the bill.
As others have noted, the continental breakfast is kind of a disaster-- it was crowded and poorly maintained (garbage cans overflowing, food running out, messy serving area).
There is an ad-hoc, unfinished vibe to the place-- the staff doesn't seem professional, though they are pleasant enough; the parking and driving areas are bumpy and rutted; and the ambience doesn't quite come up to the rustic luxury feel they promote.
Even the follow-up is off-kilter: I responded in detail to an email survey about our experience there, and never heard back. And the management comments on TripAdvisor are clearly prepackaged responses, and sometimes hilariously inapt. Probably wouldn't go back, which is a shame, considering its potential.

What a great way to begin our trip to visit the Gettysburg battlefields! We stayed in a North Lodge, with 2 bedrooms (2 full size in one, a queen in the other) plus pull out sofa in the living area. Very new, "modern rustic" furnishings. Loved the cool bathrooms. enough space for all of us, incl 3 boys (13, 10, 7 years old). Much better than the "chain" options avail in town. Tip: Dobbin's Tavern for dinner was great, too!

my husband and i just returned from a one night stay at the lodges at gettysburg. we stayed in the NY cabin - king size studio lodge. we wanted to get away from everything and just enjoy each other and the quiet - this place was perfect! our cabin was amazing! looked just like the photos. super clean. extremely charming. the staff was wonderful and helpful. we received a breakfast basket for the next morning. not too crazy about the pastries in it, but i am not a huge breakfast person anyway. the fireplace is such a cute added touch. the bathroom was big as was the kitchenette. loved the shower - beautiful and good water pressure and it stayed hot. it is super close to downtown historic gettysburg and the battlefields. we highly recommend the lodges at gettysburg and are already talking about a return trip!

We recently stayed at this newly refurbished Lodges and it was perfect, about 6 miles outside the town of Gettysburg. The surroundings are picturesque rolling fields and instantly we felt like we were staying somewhere quite special. My wife and I asked for a room with 2 Queen beds, we had been informed that those Lodges were larger and we wanted a lodge that was disconnected from the other buildings. The staff were very friendly and the rate included Continental breakfast which was very good. My only complaint would be that even though there are 4 million visitors a year to Gettysburg there is not one taxi company. So if you are like us and like to have a few drinks with dinner and don't want to have to drive it can be quite frustrating to get into town. We eventually got through to a towing company that were running a service on the side which cost us $60 round trip. While feeling slightly ripped off I still feel that I would stay at the Lodges again because the cost of the hotels in town would probably cost that much extra anyway. The Lodges were excellent and a unique way to relax in your own private cabin I would strongly recommend staying here!

Room Tip: "ask for a room with 2 queen beds the room is larger with a separate kitchen"

This little gem is a perfect way to enjoy a visit to Gettysburg but also feel like you are in a secluded retreat center. I hosted a small retreat at The Lodges and I owe so much to the environment for bringing out the best in my participants and the experience. One of the staff members even let me borrow a utensil from the kitchen since I forgot my ice scraper and needed to clean my windshield. Incredible! We were so productive and we laughed a lot! Beth, our contact, was outstanding because she took the time to understand our event and meet every need. The prices for the room and the catered food was very good and well worth the money. Since the facility is new, everything was so clean and pristine! The location of the place is ideal since it is only 15 minutes from town but you feel as though you could be hours away since it is tucked away. It has a gorgeous view of the battlefield and is probably one of the best places to stay in the Gettysburg area.
