In many trips to Philly I have walked by the Dandelion without paying attention to it. Looking for something casual near my hotel, I walked in and immediately loved the ambiance and my server was friendly and courteous.
Their famous cheeseburger is beyond description except to say its AWESOME delicious!
Love this place.

We got a last minute reservation through our hotel for dinner. It is a British Gastropub in a historic building so the restaurant covers different floors and rooms. I got the fish and chips (which was recommended by the waitress) and my daughter got the bangers and mash. We were expecting typical British food which is usually pretty bland and greasy. What we got was the most amazing food we ate the whole week in DC and Philadelphia. Fish and chips is not the name I would have given for my delicious meal. Do yourself a favor and make this place a part of your plans. Truly amazing food!

This place just flat-out rocks. Any dining hall that is jamming Television when we walk in to be seated gets an extra star. Throw in the fact they have a built-in excellent Malbec on the menu, a killer burger and fries fried in duck fat and you have a wet neck winner. Service was great, management treated us great, we came back for another round of burgers in the same week. We return in late April and that will make visit number three, rest assured. This place has it all - style, culinary skill and great atmosphere. Who cares if it's noisy? It's downtown Philly. Come in and get some.

I loved this restaurant ultimately, but my first impression was one of chaos.

Situated in a beautiful old residence, the tables of Dandelion are scattered over three floors and who knows how many rooms. There were charming bars on (at least) floors one and two.

Our 7pm Thursday night reservation was not quite ready, but the staff was extremely attentive and ushered us to a small table in the bar and took drink orders. In a reasonable amount of time, we were seated on the 2nd floor.

Everywhere, it was incredibly loud. Somehow, over time and good food, the negative effects diminished.

We shared the duck and chicken liver parfait which, even if you don’t like liver, is seriously not to be missed. We also shared Welsh rarebit. Good, but not as astonishing as the parfait.

The rabbit stew was so, so good. We also had bangers and mash (lovely, loose-textured, authentic Cumberland sausages and crazy-rich onion gravy), the pork belly (a hit), and the beef tartare, which was pronounced perfect by those who like that sort of thing.

Service was professional, friendly, and surprisingly fast.

We would definitely go again.

Interesting place with the ambience of a traditional British pub and a large log fire which is very cozy. The food was well made, with generous portions and fast service. However, the acoustics are poor which made it noisy and difficult to hold a conversation, while it was very busy and crowded even in the late afternoon. Overall, the dining experience felt just a little more stressful than it should.
