I stayed for only one night at the Omni, on business, for a conference at the Philadelphia Conference Center. The hotel was about an 8 block walk. The conference provided shuttles, but the walk, while a bit long, was fine during the day...evening was a bit sketchy on some of the streets. The hotel itself was very nice and clean. The room was clean, modern and the beds were soft and comfy. We did not have to deal with the front desk, other than to check in and get some dining recommendations, and they were very pleasant on both accounts. We did not eat at the hotel, but heard the restaurant was good. We didn't use the pool, but I did take a look at it. It was located on the spa floor. It was small, but looked very clean, the enclosed room was nice and warm and had nice sitting areas. The location is awesome, on Chestnut Street right across the street from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. It was not a far walk to other attractions like the Reading Terminal Market and China Town. We parked in the lot right around the corner and it was $27 for 24 hours. Nice restaurants were close by. We ate at Fogo de Chao for dinner and Jones for breakfast and I highly recommend both. We walked all over and felt mostly safe in the area, but as I said there are a few sketchy areas where there are some homeless folks and soup kitchens. No one bothered us, but as a woman, I would not have liked to walk alone outside of business hours. I would most definitely return to this hotel if I find myself in the Philly area again.

Room Tip: We had a corner room on the 4th floor, and it had a very nice view of the park.

If you want to see Liberty Bell and other historical places, walk 1 block or so, have a nice room, friendly atmosphere and a great experience stay at Omni. Be careful - everything in the room has a price tag - like a water bottle $5 - but other than that nothing to worry about. My kids also got complementary milk and cookies which were pretty good, and a very thoughtful thing from the hotel. We were on the second floor and still enjoyed the views from the window. Pool was a bit disappointing, but who cares - we did not have to walk a lot and that was big as we had two little ones with the stroller and a grandma with the hip replacement. We will definitely come back here! Loved our experience! Service was awesome too!

very nice updated room, great service, old cramped lobby. My problem the free wifi is useless. Connection speed 240K!! far slower than 3g on my iphone. If you need internet access don't stay here. This is the second time I have had this problem.
