The interior is funky chic with unique (i.e. mismatching) tables, chairs and flatware. Not always the most comfortable therefore, but lots of fun and worth it. Service was slowish (they were mobbed), so we had more time to chat with friends. Oyster special only in the "bar" area (we didn't know). We tried many things and were happy with the food. Hands down favorite was the grilled octopus. We also liked the foie gras on seared tuna on a watermelon radish. The cauliflower cooked with anchovies was another favorite. We did get raw oysters, which are always our favorites. Fried oysters were also good - not too much breading, so we could easily taste the oyster. The poached salmon was good by itself. We didn't think the cheese cream sauce was the best thing for it, since it hid the taste of the salmon. It's open kitchen, so the cooking and smoking/fire smells come home with you on your clothes. Someone had the cooked tomatoes with burning rosemary on top. Interesting idea, but then the dining room smelled like a cabin in the woods the rest of the evening.

When I travel and dine solo, the food and drink have to be excellent. This place fit the bill! I would stay in the neighborhood to be near this restaurant. The small plates were perfectly sized for me. The Salmon served on wilted spinach with Parmesan Cream was ordered medium rare and was perfection: crispy skin, moist interior, velvety sauce. The Best Damn Sour was just that: Unique with local spirits, house made sour, marmalade, and egg white. It is a fine find,...and I am from San Francisco Bay Area!

While visiting Philadelphia browsing through the shops on Pine St., we came across an inviting happy hour sign that listed reasonable priced oysters and drinks. This place is relatively new yet, what a let down. The best way to describe the experience was as a bait and switch scam. The sign outside was inviting but very misleading. I will not spend much time describing the visit other than to state in a nutshell it was terrible. The decor is early "goodwill" with uncomfortable low seating. A throwback to a "hippie" joint without the hippies. The 5$ drinks were limited to a few choices which seemed watered down. The appetisers not worth the effort.

Visited Pine Fish on two occasions during a recent visit to Philly. First visit was on a recommendation from a colleague and it happened to be during happy hour! They have daily happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30 with nice drink choices - you'll love the mojito- to nice options such as fried cauliflower and brussel sprouts to sushi, fresh oysters, clam and shrimp. Their menu is designed for small plates and sharing, so it's perfect for dining with friends. We enjoyed the crab cakes, flounder, lobster bisque, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. The sushi was fresh, tasty and a great portion size for an appetizer/happy hour snack. The staff was very attentive and the ambiance was great for relaxation and conversation. This place was so nice, I visited twice.

I had a wonderful dinner tonight with my family and friends! Our waiter, Tony, was very friendly and informative. We had amazingly fresh and clean raw oysters, ceviche, octopus, shrimp, scallops, crab cake, and fried oysters. All of these dishes were small plates, so we could share many things. The food was delicious, the ambiance was lovely, and our waiter was exceptional. Great place to eat for all of us!
