“Liberty Bell”
Reviewed 3 March 2012

The museum was terrific and the park staff shared interesting facts about the Liberty Bell. When you go, try to find the mispelled words on the bell and the original "crack!" COST: FREE

“Just inches from where the Declaration was signed!”

Hadn't made this stop in years. Great tour guide...really brought the Founding Fathers to life. Immediately downloaded Common Sense to my Kindle upon arriving home!

“Where it started!”
Reviewed 1 March 2012

One can feel the presents of the patriots who worked here to declare our nation independent. Stand in the meeting room where all the greats of our history toiled for freedom.

It's nothing flashy, just pure history, but incredible to go in and experience what our forefathers did.

“Long wait - felt rushed”
Reviewed 1 March 2012

We visited Independence Hall in February 2012. During the months of January and February, no tickets are required to tour Independence Hall. During the other months, timed tickets are required. There is a security check to get into the fenced off area that comprises Independence Hall. All visitors must submit to a bag check and lift the back of their coat (winter) up and turn around in front of a gaurd. They do try to be very pleasant and are gentle in their directions to children. The tours are approximately 30 minutes long (ours was rushed and was closer to 20 minutes) and are done in groups of about 80 people. We waited in line for approximately 90 minuted before getting in for a tour. The ranger was very knowledgable, but seemed to be rushing the group through the rooms. I believe it was in an effort to get more groups through as the line was incredibly long. Once through the Hall, do NOT miss the opportunity to go into the next building over and view an original copy of both the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation. If you leave the gated area of Ind. Hall before doing this, you will need to go through security again.
