Just stayed in April 2012 and had an overall very positive stay. I was in one of the newly renovated rooms in the tower connected to the Convention Center, and it was absolutely huge - the room was bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows and very clean. The bell staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the person who helped me (I believe his name was Ira?) was cheerful, and clearly very proud of the facility: an excellent hotel ambassador for this property. And lastly, you can't beat the central location of the hotel.

I also felt that there were a couple of missed opportunities, which I would attribute to inadequate training:

"At Your Service" was responsible for taking room service orders. When asked if the egg white frittatta was served with cheese, the response was, "I think it comes with feta, or something like that?" (It came with no cheese.) Another operator at the same extension forwarded my call to the bell stand; when it rang back to At Your Service after a long period of ringing, unanswered, the operator kept re-directing the call to what was clearly an unattended bell stand. I understand it was a busy check out day, but at the same time, the operator could have picked up the call after the first ring-back and taken a message or offered something other than re-directing my call.

All in all, a solid convention hotel with no frills and some gaps that prevent it from becoming really excellent. I'd probably stay here for short-term business again, but never for a vacation or personal stay.

Room Tip: Ask for the convention center tower (the headsman tower?) - the rooms are larger and plenty of sunli...

I'm just getting back from a weekend stay here... I was VERY disappointed this hotel was very average nothing special what so ever. Valet took forever to bring the car every time, once we ended up catching a cab because we waited over 20 mins... Staff was by far the worst it took 30 min + to get extra towels & wash clothes, the manager on Sat morning was rude and unwilling to help with my problem he needs to step down & be a bellman instead... I felt as though he treated me down because I was there on a discounted rate... To make a long story short I only stayed here because of the discounted rate I usually stay across the street at the Lowes where I get much better service, respect & a much finer room and dinning option... I will never stay at this hotel again if they payed me to...

Room Tip: Stay away from this hotel if you can... Much better places near by

The room was fine, the staff were nice, but the place is huge and a long way between rooms. My daughter was staying in another room on the same floor and it was easier to go down the elevator 17 floors and meet in the lobby rather than winding around the 17th floor to meet up. The restaurant was really slow in the morning and had to go find the waitress to pay the bill. It is not cheap to stay here, and I think I would look to another hotel next time.

Room Tip: end rooms are quieter

My room is quite small. The public space is ordinary. It is bustling and in a convenient spot. There isn't anything special or nice. Just solid. Eating places around here are plentiful. Near the Reading Terminal is nice too.
