I have been visiting Mammoth Lakes for over 25 years and have been to most all of the restaurants. This is a fun, well decorated and upbeat eatery. It is styled after a Greek Taverna. The Hummus appetizer was smooth, savory and served with fresh warm pita bread. The Harrissa Chicken Wings were plentiful and mildly spiced. The Cioppino was had ample shrimp and mussels with small pieces of clams and potatoes. The food was fresh, delicious and we left feeling full but not overfilled. Also, there was a good selection of wine by the glass but only three selections of beer. Service was prompt and friendly. Two thumbs up...we will definitely return.

One highlight was finding with the help of the staff an excellent in un Oaked Chardonnay from Washington State, by Gilbert Cellars 2015.
Our waiter, Freddie was helpful and the starter and main course of Scallops was delightful.
Well worth a visit.

The staff was amazing, especially their wine pairing. The owner Chip, is an excellent host and is also very amazing with the wines they carry, especially Silver Oak. The tapas were amazing, and a cool way to start your meal. Chip at different times came by and told us stories about his past and his journey into the restaurant business. Chip has an awesome past that he brings to Mammoth. His Chef (I forgot his name) was involved in most every table. Mammoth should be proud to have to a restaurant of this caliber. Thank you for a very fun evening that included amazing wine and food! I highly recommend Jimmy T's to locals as well as all vacationing in Mammoth

Well I have to say, Jimmy's Taverna provided us with an extremely unique dining experience. Our night started with us arriving for our reservation at 7:15. We were promptly seated and placed drink orders. After drinks were served, we then met our actual server for the night and ordered a few appetizers. The apps were served pretty promptly and were enjoyable but little did we know a dining experience we would soon dread was just beginning.

About twenty minutes after receiving and finishing our apps, we begun to feel as if something was wrong. Our plates were left on the table, and for an odd reason, it seemed as our request for more water wasn't understood. Now I'll give some slack as the request was given to the busser and not the server, but that was only because we only interacted with our server TWICE. This would be somewhat understandable had there not been only about five tables being served. After the third request, we were finally blessed with having our water refilled and boy would we need it as it would take another THIRTY minutes from the clearing of our apps to be served our entrees.

Now during that wait we were relieved to hear that while extremely delayed, the kitchen was still working hard to prepare orders as timely as possible. Now if only that notice was given to our table. We were fortunately close enough to eavesdrop on the conversation at the table next to us between who appeared to be the GM and some guests. We also had the pleasure of hearing the GM ask for kind reviews from other tables as well. We could careless about that honestly. To wait thirty minutes for entrees and not be given an update of some sort is what was truly laughable.

So the wait ends and our entrees our walked out. My filet looked absolutely scrumptious, while my friend's moussaka also looked very appealing. But we were quickly left puzzled by the entree of my other friend. He had not only received something he didn't order, but something that WAS NOT on the menu. He ordered the pork tenderloin, served with mushroom risotto and broccolini. He received what looked to be a tomahawk pork chop served with broccoli and mashed sweet potato. At this point, I could only laugh. Had we just stepped into the twilight zone? Of thousands of dining experiences, this was truly a first. Famished, tired and at this point thoroughly annoyed my friend begrudgingly finished the meal.

So we have finally come to the end of our meals and low and behold our server returns! Luckily we didn't have a problem with our entrees beside the wrong order of course and this time we were sure to conserve water as if we were stranded and awaiting rescue in Death Valley. At this point we just wanted our check so we could end this madness but were first asked if we would like some ice cream. Another item that wasn't on the menu. Sugar wasn't needed now, stiff drinks were.
