We stayed in a one bedroom condo for two nights and found the room to be really comfortable with all the amenities we expected. The Village Lodge complex comprises bars, restaurants and shops and everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. The inn is well located for exploring Yosemite and the various lakes dotted around the area. There is also a gondola ride up Mammoth mountain that is worth a look if you find you have spare time. We ate dinner at the Smokehouse restaurant both nights and really enjoyed it. Try to get there before 9 pm and sit outside near the fire pit as the acoustics inside are not ideal for a relaxing meal.
The only downside about the stay was the free Internet was discontinued early on the morning of our stay. We had wanted to check on our next destination and look for points of interest along the way. When we approached the front desk manager about this at check out he said they were changing the code and unfortunately that was what had caused the cessation of service. He did eventually offer us the new code for the remainder of our stay so they did rectify the problem.
