If you're in Sulphur or Davis for awhile and just want a spot to fish or boat this is not a bad spot.

Just out for a drive and a little fishing. Nice place for picnic under a pavilion. It's close to VA Nursing Home so easy to go for an outing with loved one.

This area has nice trails and areas for walking and taking families and pets. Good place for relaxing.

We started out at one section of the path which has a well built/sturdy chinning/dipping station. The path around the lake area is essentially a cement sidewalk with four or five outhouses and a couple of water stations. Well maintained quite area for running, cycling or walking.

We went to Chickasaw on a very busy holiday weekend. While the springs were super busy, the Veteran's Lake was not. It was nice to get a break from the crowds and just float in the water. If you are looking for a quieter part of the park, do not miss this hidden gem. Super clean, and relaxing.
