This museum was interesting. We enjoyed the Real to Reel "Gone with the Wind" exhibit.

This was a run down section of Little Rock in the 1930's when a local attorney's wife recognized that the first territorial legislature met on these premesis and early governors lived here. Taking the cue from Williamsburg she got the State legislature to join in and restore the historic area into a museum destination. Now added is a fine museum with a great Akansas related collection. One of their signature collections is on the Bowie knife which fascinates many visitors but the collection is far more diverse. Highly recommend the gift shop, full of crafts made by local potters and jewelers. What I never cared for is the tour of the historic houses, but others do like this. It is a very well run and friendly museum all just a block or so from the river market area.

Visited with friends from out of town. Everyone totally enjoyed the original costumes and other GWTW-related memorabilia. Historic Arkansas Museum has hit a home run with this exhibit!

We only had time to look around the galleries which were okay. Would have liked to have had time to take the guided only tour around the Historic Homes.

We visited on a Saturday. There were local volunteers dressed up in 1836 attire and playing the part of prominent people in Arkansas during that time. They were interesting and fun for all in the small village area. The museum exhibits were fair, I guess I expected more exhibits. The employees at the front desk seemed more interested in talking among themselves than greeting guest and offering information. For being free it is well worth it. If you are interested in more exhibits, I recommend the Old State House Museum.
