“Quaint, comfortable cottage”
Reviewed 20 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We couldn't have found a more perfect place to use as a home base while visiting the truly magnificent national parks... Zion and Bryce.
My wife, her sister and two brothers enjoyed a reunion with each other (hadn't been together in over 10yrs) Joleen's cottage couldn't have been more welcoming. Beautiful gardens graced the front and back yard. There was even a vegetable garden at our disposal. I would recommend this awesome cottage to anyone looking for comfort and convenience to town and national parks.

“Charming house charming host”

This is a lovely peaceful spot to stay in between Bryce Canyon and Zion NP. The house has and olde worlde charm, but with all modern conveniences, wifi, oven, two TVs, microwave, dishwasher etcetc. Through a small alley across the road from the house is a giant supermarket and four or five take-aways (don't know how to say it in American - but you know, kitchens where you can take food away to eat it!).
Outside there are places to sit and have a drink and a nibble, at the time we were there the garden had the sun in the morning and the front stoop in the early evening.
Hostess very keen to please, brought flowers to enliven the kitchen, lots of info on places to visit. This house has everything you could want.
TIP: for a very nice walk leave the house and turn right, turn right again and after 150m go through Veterans Park (a very nice memorial to the fallen in several wars) you reach half way alongCoal Creek Walk - a very well maintained 5km walk (we turned right towards Cedar Canyon). Beautiful red cliffs and superb blue skies.

“Beautifully relaxing!”
Reviewed 21 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Just spent Monday and Tuesday night in this beautiful home. Had a surprise birthday party for my daughter. And we spent it in this beautiful home. The yard is to die for. We were all in awe over every detail. Already started planning our next stay here.

“Charming and Strategically Located”

What a lucky choice we made to put ourselves midway between Bryce and Zion and away from the plastic of St. George or the mini-Santa Fe/Sedona of Springdale and choose to come to Cedar City, a quiet small college town with enough to keep you happy for a few days. The cottage was awesome. It can sleep 5, and for the price of two blah rooms in a Super 8, we got a full house with a massively stocked kitchen, wi-fi, a living area for us to be together and even a back yard. Jolene take phenomenal care of the place, and decorates it in quaint/country style. Everything was in great condition, spotlessly clean and served us perfectly. We would absolutely come back when we are next in the area.

““Delightful and charming cottage stocked with everything you could need by a very thoughtful owner.””
Reviewed 4 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Spending a weekend in this delightful cottage was like staying at my favorite aunt's house! The owner put a lot of heart and soul at furnishing and decorating it. She put herself in the perspective of the guests and provided many amenities and details to make the stay as pleasant as possible. I truly felt as if she cared about us, as if we were family. By her example, she has created a culture of kindness and generosity among her guests: upon departure, guests often leave behind foods that could be useful to the next guests, so that you do not arrive to an empty fridge and pantry! The beds and bedding are very comfortable. The master bedroom has its own shower. The other two bedrooms share a beautiful bathroom, the Pippen Bath, with European style bathtub (handheld shower nozzle). There are two sitting rooms (one with gas stove), a cheerful kitchen and a patio that looks and feels like a fairy garden (according to our girls (9 and 10 year old)). They absolutely loved the house, especially their bedroom! See pictures of the thank you notes they wrote in the guest book. We loved also that the grocery store is a 2 minute walk away! Staying in this house was a destination in itself and the highlight of our weekend! Can't wait to go back! We feel so lucky to have found this rental on Tripadvisor. Thanks to all the previous reviewers whose reviews helped us choose this property! I would not recommend this house if you have toddlers who will want to relocate all the cute little objects throughout the house, but for older kids, it is perfect!
